I agree with everything you said Diablo, except where you said that Judd is ours. He is far from ours in my opinion. I hope that at the very least our meeting today has ruled Carlton out in his mind, given that we probably have as much, if not more, to offer him. The thing that really works in our favour is that we have what West Coast want, Collingwood don't and they are a nightmare to trade with. If Judd says he's happy to go to either club, he'll come to Melbourne, as West Coast will not deal with the Pies voluntarily. Despite some of the crap coming out of the Essendon and Carlton camps, it is my belief that Judd is more focused on Collingwood, with Melbourne being the back-up. Hopefully Collingwood's trade history helps secure our position.

Don't think it'll go against us, but he won't take up the offer regardless. We may have said that "the option of captaining the side, be it next year or down the track, is a big possibility".

There won't be any announcements of any clubs for another couple of weeks I think... so stock up on those Valiums everyone!

I didn't see a massive grin... do you mean when he was trying to run away from Hutchy? He said "it was good" and he repeated that he still had to meet other clubs. It was hardly earth shattering news. I don't see Judd playing at TD for a team of tankers who are going nowhere fast. If he does go there, he's obviously chasing the dollar.

Nobody knows anything, because Judd himself doesn't know yet. Besides, unlike the other clubs, we don't have a board that leaks like a broken tap. We have kept our intentions quiet and that's how we'll continue to operate. Hopefully Judd appreciates that. As Gary said on the Footy Show, Judd likes the club, which is why he chose us as one of the 4. Someone at Essendon told me today that he is definitely going to Essendon, that was after earlier in the week Carlton officials were saying he's already agreed to go to Carlton. I repeat, nobody knows anything!

Had lunch at Pratt's house for about 1.5 hours, then went to Optus Oval to have a look and get the presentation from Ratten. I have yet to see Chris Judd smile. If they get vision of him meeting with Melbourne tomorrow and he smiles, he's ours :D Judd is also meeting with Essendon on Saturday and Collingwood later in the week. Hutchy said that he will only talk to these 4 clubs, he will then make a decision and tell the Eagles "this is the club I want to go to, trade me there or I'm going into the PSD". Carlton said they haven't made him an offer, and that they'll only make one if/when he says he is committed to them... which he obviously hasn't said.

Watch some media [censored] say "Judd is certainly going to club X', after every meeting he has He said he'll meet with 4 clubs, and he will. He can't possibly make a decision based on one club, because he hasn't heard what other clubs have to offer. We won't know until Monday night, at the earliest.

Just watched the vision again on Sports Tonight, and suddenly his jumper does look navy! <_< Surgeon meeting tomorrow morning, then meeting with clubs Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Hope we're last so that we can compare what the other clubs have offered.

That worries me. As much as I really really really really really (x100) want Chris Judd at the Dees, I don't want him at any cost. There are 3-4 players that I am not willing to part with, not even for Judd, as it will leave us a weaker team. While Judd is brilliant, he still needs a good team around him (as proven by West Coast). If we go and trade some of our best kids to get him, he'll be doing it on his own and failing. I think Judd is aware of that, and he wants success more than probably anything else. Additionally, West Coast have a big salary cap issue IMO. They have already told Chick they won't offer him another contract, and they already have plenty of young up and coming stars that they will need to try and keep. That is why they're after draft picks, rather than players. That will give them some breathing space for at least 2 or 3 seasons.

I don't know too much about the kids in the draft and who we could grab with pick 4, but you would have to seriously think about that offer. Pendlebury is a gun, and he's still a kid. That's why Collingwood won't trade him. It's foolish to say that if not for Judd, we are not trading pick 4. If we can't get Judd, and another club can but needs our pick 4, I'm all for ripping that club off!

Will they pressure his decision in any way? Gees, my dad would never forgive me if I had the opportunity to play for Melbourne and I chose Collingwood!!! <_<

I love how they talk about the MCG being a big factor, but don't talk about Melbourne. We played 12 games at the MCG this year, to Collingwood's 15. Next year, we're likely to play one more with the end of the Brisbane deal. That's 13 vs. 15. We also happen to have our headquarters at the MCG, and are the ground's original tenants. But because we are Melbourne, we don't get a mention. This is exactly why we need Judd, so that we can stop being so damn insignificant!
