You could say that about most teams - all of them have a quality top 4 which pushes the other players to perform. The fact is they do have those top four and due to that fact they are a little more than pretenders this year, I'm sad to say. I wish Melbourne had a really good top four.

The mind boggles at the intricate details of the football club, structures, talent of players etc that have an adverse effect on our ability to win and that are discussed on Demonland. Forget the article, the rest of that post was pretty good and well thought out. I'm not a total supporter of Neeld but the club needs cool heads to prevail and although I like the idea as a show of faith which could possibly be good for Neelds confidence, it could be a bit drastic and dangerous. Especially as he already has a year to go after this.

It's all about instant gratification apparently. People aren't willing to be patient, but with MFC supporters it's understandable that we might be a bit impatient, it has been a while. What I think should happen: all talk about this should be shut down for the duration season and Neeld should be left to his job for the rest of the year. It can be reviewed at years end (by which time I believe he will have made some good progress) but any move on his spot during the season will only set the club back further. There have been some promising signs even though the first few weeks have been hard. Sacking Neeld and bringing in someone else won't change the fact that our list is poop and needs a bit of time to develop. A lot of people here expect young kids to be stars straight away and it just doesn't make sense.

Okay so I've bolded the one that can be attributed directly to Brown and ninth in the league isn't a bad result. Goals per game does not reflect on Brown only - that is the entire team and in particular the midfield. How are we supposed to kick goals when we can't even get the ball there? It's pretty simple. Marks inside 50, see above.

I think it's possible that Brown deserves some praise actually. Aren't we number one in the league for converting inside 50's into scores? We just don't get enough inside 50's thanks to the midfield.

I think we should focus on Cotchin, Deledio and Reiwoldt firstly.
