  1. That's interesting because Harrington was on Fox Sports last night and when he was asked if the players at 1 & 2 know he indicated they didn't because they have to find out from the AFL/Fox sports how much of a surprise they want it to be. He was just probably adding to the suspense from a Fox sports side if things.
  2. I'm with you DD. I haven't seen the highlights package but only the Vic metro vs SA game. It's just all the little things like the way he was gathering the footy below his knees, getting to contests etc that won me over.
  3. I don't think best available applies to the same extent with the psd. In the psd he'll have a 3 year contract at reasonable $$ on his head. He might be the best available but he's not worth a 3 year deal to us at this point in time IMO, i'd rather us take a punt on someone like Thorp with the last spot on the list.
  4. Did he talk teams into not picking him or just say he prefers Sydney?
  5. I'm not familiar with the rules on draft tampering but i'd think discouraging teams to pick you would be a form of tampering.
  6. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/luke...from=public_rss Well good luck to him, lets use our pick on a kid who'll be excited at the opportunity of joining the dees.
  7. Not one mention of Ball yet. I get a feeling he might end up a demon after draft night. This is my guess at the moment, could be more a wishlist. I'll update closer to draft night. 1 - Scully 2 - Trengove 11 - Talia 18 - Ball/Tapscott 34 - James Craig 50 - ................ psd1 - .............
  8. By the time we would have got around to using the 2 rookie selections there would be sfa left in the way of prospects. By cashing in our 2 rookie picks that were available to us and filling those spots with contracted players and using 34 and 50 in the national draft instead our chances of snagging a player of value is a lot better. I think it's a very smart move. It's been talked about a lot that this draft is weak in the fact that the players that would usually be speculative rookie selections will go in the late round picks in this draft so that would mean there is very little of offer in the rookie draft.
  9. Sounds like we've shown a bit of interest. http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2009/11/0...91_ntsport.html
  10. I'd be surprised if we did look at Joel. He could have been picked up very cheaply in trade week, I think if the Ball deal falls through it might be a better option to use pick 34 in the nd.
  11. When are we likely to have an idea of his intentions, would he have to be delisted by Saint Kilda by the 31st October or are there still more list lodgement dates after that?
  12. I was wondering if it might have meant they'd take Robbo as a throw-in if it looks like Fev will be moving on.
  13. Gee what an impressive kid. He was everywhere in that last quarter.
  14. Would be great if he was there at 18 but like a lot of others here i'd be surprised if he was still around by then. He moves very well for a tall, I reckon he would make a great tall forward but just a good player in general.
  15. I took from his comments that he could be versatile like a Pavlich (also Goodes like you mentioned) and play well as a forward as well. I could have been reading more into it though.
  16. Harrington didn't seem to think so going by what he said on TAC cup future stars on Sunday.
  17. Great player but i'd be saving up the cap space and throwing it at Roughead when he comes out of contract next year.
  18. He does look to be a beauty. The Falcons seem to do a good job with the kids.
  19. Has been my favourite since he burst onto the scene in 2000. Played hard and fair and always gave 100%. Thanks for the memories Wheels.
  20. I could be wrong but are a lot of the question marks over Butcher the same ones that slipped Buddy Franklin from a top 2 pick down to number 5 ?
  21. Amazing how much that kick actually was worth to the Tigers. If he missed Richmond would have Tom Scully to go with picks 17 and 18 this year. Not to mention the effect it would have had on us.
  22. I'm yet to watch todays game yet but it's hard not to get excited from watching Jurrah's progression each week. Perhaps Robbo could hand down the number 24 as well as the rights to being the new excitement machine in the forward line.
  23. I notice he's back in the Sturt seniors this week. The game is being played tonight, will be interesting to see how he goes.
  24. I think Watts is fairly reasonable on his left. It probably jumped out at me though because i'm not used to seeing too many using both feet. You raise a valid point. For what it's worth I think Trengove is our man.
