  1. Brad Symes would be a great addition to the team however according to the South Australian news he is set to discuss his future in the next couple of days with the Adelaide Crows. At a guess Adelaide may be using the draft picks they have received from Sydney and/or the Bulldogs to make a trade with their cross town rivals.
  2. Nah you're right Heffernan, Moorcroft and Pickett types haven't been our answer. It's just a bit disappointing the draft is meant to be fairly shallow this year, makes it a bit of a risk to go loading up on picks like Hawthron did a few years back. Another top 10 would be nice though, anything outside that that I think probably wouldn't be worth doing. I think the targeting of Meesen is a step in the right direction, highly rated and still fairly raw, as was seen with McIntosh sometimes these guys take a while to come along. Fingers crossed he could turn out to be an equivalent of an extra first round pick to us in a few years time.
  3. Pumping him up to get a better deal perhaps.
  4. Beat me too it. Beamer came to us very young 20-21 years old i think???? Had a great first year finishing 4th in the b&f and has been ravaged with injury the last couple of seasons, I hope he can shake the injury and get back to that form, i wouldn't consider him a write-off yet. I think our recruiting team did a very good job finding Beamer when we lost Thomspon, what has happened in the past 2 seasons isn't anyones fault.
  5. Thats dedication, I try to look up info during trade week but thats taking it to a new level
  6. LOL now the facilities at my house are sufficient (I believe) and I have just checked and under the Fox Sports news there is breaking news with all the results that are mentioned on this site. Also Brad Green came 4th with 170
  7. Interesting but not surprising, good to see Jones and Bate in the top 3.
  8. CHF or CHB??? No in all seriousness, I hope the club and players do take a bit from this, same as Geelong's turn around this year.
  9. Is there anyway of following this on the net?
  10. Ah well not to worry he knocked us back based on our training facilities, probably not the fact that Demonland crashed.
  11. Oh well, lets just reward our current players/future draft picks/trade acquisitions with a nice new facility in the future, if Chris didn't want to hang around and wait then so be it. If this is the real reason we were knocked back then his defection to Collingwood must be a mere formality because Carlton aren't in a better position than us at the present time. Life goes on and I'm still looking forward to seeing Dean Bailey take the reigns and develop these boys like he believes he can. Also I think it has been mentioned in many posts on this thread and others; Please Steve Harris stop being flattered by being taken into consideration with the big 3 Victorian clubs, I find it somewhat insulting, lets just move forward and work at building the club into a force it deserves to be. P.S While I am disappointed that my favourite player outside the MFC decided against joining us, its also a bit hard to think he may become a member of the filth, I struggled showing an interest when "you know who" traded his red v into black and white stripes, sorry Chris that bridge has been burnt.
  12. That is my exact thoughts, Melbourne would be a club of significance again if he chooses to come to us.
  13. If you were imagining it then so was I. He looked fairly happy walking out of the Pratt house, this next couple of weeks are going to be painful. So tomorrow is the day, best of luck to Dean and the troops, we really need this to put the club back on the map.
  14. Yeah thats what I thought too but my point is they will end up with Kruezer and Judd.
  15. Just stumbled across this on ninemsn..... Blow for Eagles as Judd heads east http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=296384 I will be pretty dirty if the blues land him, after the way they finished out the year and snagged two early picks and now they can use these as leverage to land the best player in the game today just makes the game a shambles.
  16. Just stumpled across this little blooper on the Melbourne home page I thought i would share....... Pickett adds to the exodus The tough Demon joins teammates Clint Bizzell and Nathan Jones in announcing his retirement... Over so soon??? On a serious note, good luck to Byron, Bizz and Nathan of the BROWN variety with their future endevours, been a pleasure having them in the red and blue.
  17. Don't read too much into it, Hutchy said he'd be lying if he said he knew who was chosen. However I wouldn't be upset if Bailey was the chosen one. I didn't know anything about him either but after reading the article on the AFL site posted a few weeks back he opened my eyes. Either way whatever Melbourne does it will be a bold move, sure it's a bold move to appoint Sheedy but it's probably even bolder to overlook him for someone that has come out on top of the coaching process.
  18. Bate and Sylvia replacing Moloney and Johnstone Davey on the board early, thats gotta be good for his confidence
