Just a bump on this thread, was mentioned on triple m today that this will be going ahead incluidng the top 10 count down. I like the idea and think it's great however I don't like the idea of the count down.
Did anyone hear the conversation on Triple M today about what Melbourne should do with pick number 2?
They were weighing up if we should think outside the best available policy and look at selecting someone like Butcher. I didn't catch the whole conversation but would be interested to know what they discussed if anyone caught it.
I'm a big fan, while i don't know about top 50 (at the moment) I completely agree that he would be highly regarded if he was in a top team. Think he'll also finish pretty well in our b&f.
With Buckley, Johnson and Sylvia named in the starting 18 for Casey does that mean the final bench will be McNamara, Bail, Dunn and Petterd?
I'd be surprised if Moloney played though so perhaps Sylvia comes in for him.
I agree, the fans are a massive part of the game. As far as i'm concerned I just want the next 5 games to be over and done with. Following my football team is not how it should be at the moment and the fact the AFL are happy to continually force this situation upon supporters is ridiculous.
The AFL can say all they want about tanking being non-existent but maybe they should look outside the square a bit and look at the effect the priority pick situation has on supporters.
I just hope that all win/loss/priority pick agenda's aside we can get Wheels 4 games in the seniors so he can crack the 150. Hopefully he's one of the ins this week.
On a side note this guy was talking footy on the today show the other day and mentioned niknat's upcoming debut. Mentioned how he'll do things exciting etc etc and we'll see why many people still think he should have been the number 1 draft pick. Mentioned that # 1 pick was Watts who debuted last week and appears to be a long way off senior footy whereas niknat has been ready to go at senior level for weeks now.
I mean fair enough to talk up Naitanui, i'm looking forward to seeing him on the park as much as most people but didn't think it was really necessary to mention Watts in the negative sense like he did. He just gave me the impression that he doesn't care much for Melbourne and thought he'd take a dig while he could.
In the video with CC and the Hun journo's (see other thread), CC said that we'll be taking 2 emergencies to the Gold Coast with us because we have a couple of players under injury clouds.
Surely Jamar won't play after only 60% match time in his return game last week. Didn't Bailey say he was still 1 or 2 weeks away? Guess he did say Valenti will get a few games also.
The final bench is harder to pick than a broken nose
I was just thinking the same thing. Bruce, Green and Whelan looked good in 2000 but they had very different roles to Morton plus they had the luxury of playing in a very good team. His stats for a player of 27 games are remarkable and it's even more impressive that he's only turned 19 this year. His upside is massive.
I get extremely frustrated with the amount of ad's they string together after a goal, couldn't beleive it when they did it after Robbo's behind, absolutely disgraceful. It's yet another reason to hate the Sunday game.
3 Goals.
I'd be interested to know the stats on how many of his kicks were on his left foot. He has absolutely no hesitation on wheeling onto his left which i think shows how confident he is in his own skills.
