Good thread, we have a break, a really strong pre season, come out strong in 2025. Early wins count as much as late wins. Disco should never be sub again, really great potential. I also think Monners can become a player. if our recruitment works , no players who are fringe at other clubs please. And if we score in the draft. Need one more best 22 from somewhere.or two. Mid year draft pick. Unless you want an impact this current season then you do not pick an 18 year old kid. has that come out right ? Aaase about I think. They picked him for his potential maybe next year or the one after . And not leaving him on the table for this years draft. In doing so getting an extra player they thought would fall low. I hope.

Disappointed with this year and the last two. Not overly excited about 2025, but I am looking forward to this coming year. We have some great older guys and some fantastic talent coming through. out list is up there with any other club. Hopefully there are some learnings (sorry) to be had from this year preparation of players at the start Management throughout the year. They cannot play every game at full bore. Give them strategic rest times , its all about being uninjured and all fit in the September games. it clearly takes effort to win one flag and possibly more than one season to prepare to win. Rest anyone now, this season is kaput. Play for 25 plan for 25. FD and players. All of us. Go Dee’s

Add in Smith and Brayshaw thats possibly 9 changes in personnel too many in the one year. We need targeted players for future on next year positions. you also need experience and players for newbies to copy in terms of training and game preparation. 5 or 6 would be great. IMV

The dogs might well play off in the granny. our year has finished, I hope, but if the dogs can be a contender this year we can next year. So it’s shut for 24, wide open for 25. These players can do it, a couple more inclusions would help. need better strategies in picking players for individual games. And to rest players got late September. Also IMO need more flair and unpredictable moves in games and by players. forget the spilt milk and if only we had. thats past. We have what we have. Deal with it. About what I expected, 21 extra shots they were fully up we were limp. but I saw some of our players trying so hard and getting frustrated and others who need to learn resilience. Other games I have been so down but not tonight, there is a future there, to win the flag you need luck with the ball and luck with injuries and players. Tonight we had neither. Umpiring and the bounce if the ball was not with us. play the long game for 2025, Goodness himself needs help or needs to go. It’s these sort of games that teach players and supporters that you need strong resilience to be a Melbourne supporter or player. We have made mistakes and hsve problems. But. I see this as the club becoming far more professional. Looking after player interests as well as looking to 2025 . i also see giving Hunter his 200th against the dogs as the same. Player interest. It’s a whole package. But yes get games into the younger blokes , gee even Laurie might come good. The FD think there is something there. But others time to look elsewhere I think. and we need to draft for the future with the best aggressive and skilled players. No matter the position. as long as we beat the filth in the last game.
