  1. Problem is the challenge of finding/trading in mature men who are talented. Adding three more 22-24 yr old "honest toilers" from the VFL, SAFL, WAFL, etc won't win us a flag. That said, it may stop us winning another spoon, which would be a start.
  2. And the Kangaroos... Leigh Adams (shoulder) - test Drew Petrie (adductor) - test Hamish McIntosh (knee) - 2 weeks Tom Curran (foot) - season The footy gods are laughing at us again.
  3. I too know nothing and wish Liam and his community all the best.
  4. I'd like us to keep all players till they have played 100 games, set them up with Amazonian sports women (say the Williams sisters and local top women athletes). Then we wait another 20 years and bingo! Premiership success! ;-)
  5. Been thinking about Brocky playing OK at Carlton, Cheeny at Hawks and how both took a season or two to hit their straps at those clubs. And it occurred to me that those two players had to cross the void that the Melb team is now trying to cross, before they were good enough to play for their new teams. Not sure if the theory has merit... but it may be he silver lining we're all looking for.
  6. Great work for a Monday morning. Cudo's
  7. The point surely is, have the board been held responsible for taking their eye off the ball and mismanaging rebuild V1.0 so badly? Coach was sacked. Players will be pruned at years end. But the board?
  8. I hear you Hell, you should feel for us saps living in sunny f#&king Melbourne, we've got to go and watch this Sh#t more than every second week. And a game like Essendon comes along only every 22 games these days. We should petition the AFL fr a priority pick, because we are seriously cr*p.
  9. Was with you Ben till the last parra. We have been a great club before, and we shall be a great club again. As always its just a matter of when.
  10. I suspect that Beamer (and others) who may find themselves close to being traded or delisted at the end of this year will be highly motivated to have a rip snorting pre-season and be looking for redemption in 2013. Hopefully Neeld understands the power of this.
  11. The flaws as I've heard bandied about on Beamer are lack of defensive skills (and application) lack of speed and endurance (a plodder) too old to remedy above Not interested in new gameplan [censored] off at FD re leadership demotion... Would another pre-season with his full and humble buy in get him through the above challenges? If Col Sylvia is another example, he does seem to have turned the corner (turned up) after injury and average form made him look gone...
  12. Beamer was good in a crap team last year. Cudo's to him for last year. I guess the question is why has he is struggling so much this year? and can he pull himself out of it?
  13. Beams will go GWS if he leaves Collingwood. $$$$$
  14. Given our tall outs (Clark, Jamar, Sellar, Watts) we had few targets for the long bomb, which probably added to the indecision (poor decisions)...
  15. Noticing that the speculation about GWS's next victim/target is very muted this year. Is Boak off to GWS? If not, then which lucky player(s) and unlucky club(s) is going to win the AFL's lotto and earn more than they're worth? It's not us so all good there.
  16. Bummer for Flash. Hopefully this will clear the decks for Aaron to have a monster pre-season and hit 2013 fit, firing and full of confidence. His best is better than most on our list and he's not so old as to not be able to thrive under the current FD for a couple of years still.
  17. Is Howe our prototype Daisy Thomas type player?
  18. I disagree, and have faith in Liam's ability to continue performing for the MFC once his troubles in Alice are sorted.
