  1. Given the investments we need to make in our Midfield, Chip was one of a few players with any currency who we could do without. Roos tested our backline to see if they'd stand up without him, and they did... If we take last years trade of pick 3 for Tyson and Salem (plus other bits I know). Would we see trading Frawley for a Tyson quality mid (plus half a Salem) as a win or loss? Gotta break eggs to make an omelette.
  2. I thought his speech was a thinly veiled FU to the CFC about values and them pushing him out when he is obviously talented (finishing 4th in their B&F). I liked it, the Collingwood Football Club has gone from the club of the working people with community values, to a glorified corporate bogan devoid of values and ashamed of their roots. Welcome Prince!
  3. I like the idea that we play it straight with using picks 2 and 3 on Petracca and Brayshaw... and scare GWS off from Christian. Or force GWS to deal with us rather than the Saints to get access to Petracca with pick 2... And hope like hell they are the real deal and we can develop them into the champs we need.
  4. As odd as it may sound, perhaps Roos has other things he'd like to do with his like than working 60 hour weeks under extreme scrutiny to achieve something he's already done...
  5. It's a vicious cycle if you're down the ladder its hard, if you're on the way up it gets easier. Should Dangerfield join the MFC, we could be knocking on the door of the 8 in 2015 and the crop of 2015 Free Agents will look at us quite differently, i.e. we'll start to look attractive. Makes you wonder what makes Dangerfield tick and if he's up for the challenge.
  6. I'd suggest Roos attack on FA was a continuation of the MFC's push to ensure we get Pick 3. When it's announced we have it, things should become clear quite quickly.
  7. Its always been about the list. Roos has another two years to get the list and culture right, and I have upmost confidence he will get it right. When he leaves the Senior coach position we should be pushing into the eight, and I reckon Goodwin (with Roos in the background) will be ideal to continue this push.
  8. After listening to Robbie Flower talk of his joy of playing for the team he supported as a kid, getting Stretch would be sweet, and counter to the cynical mercenary money grubbing dross we've had to wade through in recent years...

  10. Would depend on what the AFC want out of their trade with us for Dangerfiled. They may be after a tall.
  11. I like the way Goodwin said "If players of Patty’s calibre were keen on that, then we’re certainly very open to the idea of trying to get someone in over the free agency period at some stage over the next few years." Meaning if we don't get him next year we'll have another go (along with many others) next year...
  12. I reckon Roos has had the Brayshaw and Dangerfield double header lined up since Frawley showed his hand months ago. Please make it so.
  13. If its actually on, they'd be wise to wait for Frawley to announce he's leaving - DONE Frawley to strike his big deal - NEXT (Probably first thing Monday) AFL to announce pick 3 compo - BEEN ALIGNED WITH AFL ALREADY (probably Tuesday) Package presented to AFC - of pick 3 and ??? (already underway) Dangerfield announce he will come. (will announce on Wednesday)
  14. Gold Coast axing their coach and Thompson being "interested" has forced the Bombers' hand to end it with James...
  15. if you look at the three best players for hawks in GF - Hodge (30), Mitchell (32) and Lewis (28). They are all experienced midfielders. With limits on runners, and speed of game you need experienced players on every line, and especially in the middle.
  16. Pre-election BS, pollies handing out cash to buy votes. interesting mention of a new sponsor, any idea who it is?
  17. Do Geelong have any up and coming mids who can't break into their team at the moment?
  18. If last years trade and draft period are a template, I reckon Heritier is equivalent to our recruiting of Cross, solid reliable experienced player with the right attitude. A good pick up.
  19. Interesting position Dangerfield is in, decide to go now and get best deal for Adelaide Football Club (but have to go to MFC, but get LOADs of CASH) or Wait a year enduring reams of speculation before waltzing to a power club and screwing the AFC with average compo. Key seems to be Clubs ability to convince Dangerfield of Roos ability to orchestrate a rapid rise next year..
  20. May also explain some indifferent form by one of his teammates...? Pure speculation, heard nothing.
  21. Foolishly overs and actually counter productive. If Danger wants to come, he has to believe we shall improve so would want us to pay MINIMAL to AFC to get deal done and have MAXIMUM to spend drafting other talent to aid the MFC's move up the ladder. It sate the AFC we need to offer more than their FA compo (for next year) and/or more than other Vic clubs can offer. To offer more will hurt our chances to lure Danger on the promise of an immanent rise.
  22. We should look to capitalise on the fire sale the Dons need to do to move their "about to be sanctioned" player's onto someone else's list. I.e we trade pick 3 for Heppell, accepting he may be out for 6 months...
