They just mentioned on SEN that Bell would miss 8 weeks. For Jurrah, they didn't give a timeframe, but said they were seeking further consultation - but summised that he was cleared of serious injury
-
I was really keen to get a key forward with pick 11 and 18. But i reckon Carlton are more in need of one than us, and they also passed on Talia and Black.
-
I have no expertise whatsoever in making these predictions, but here goes: 1. Scully 2. Trengove 11. Black 18. Gawn 34. Colyer 50. Patrick PSD. MacDonald

With injury and attitude concerns, there is a good possibility that Thorpe could be available in the rookie draft. That demotion might be the spur he needs to get his career back on track.
-
Always liked Richo. I do wonder though how many of these grief stricken Tigers supporters on talkback this evening, are the same ones calling for Richo to be traded barely 3 or 4 years ago
-
Actually this was the old rule. Players can now enter the ND and set their conditions. In some ways, in makes the Pre-season draft obsolete.

Colin Wisbey is the moderator on Extreme Black n White
-
And to add to that Goodvibes, here are some current comments by Wisbey after he was delisted:
-
This is very pleasing news. We now get to see first hand if he still has the talent that made him so highly rated a couple of years back, and to get an idea of his off-field persona.
-
Nice little article on family connections, with a bit on Dylan. Connections almost the norm Can't comment on whether he'd be a good fit for us or not, but its refreshing to hear for a change, that a player's preference is to be drafted by Melbourne.
-
I doubt we will go after him Even if we traded our pick 50 for him (which we won’t use), it would still be better than the pick 58 that his delisting frees up for the Hawks. Pity, the kid had talent. Too bad he is such a prat.
-
I love trade week! From a purely football point of view - Brown + pick 9 for Burgoyne is a fair deal. Brown is a decent player, but not the champion that Hawthorn fans make him out to be. But probably not worth it given the effects on the supporter base and club morale. I've already heard quite a few supporters ringing up SEN threatening to cancel their memberships if it goes ahead
-
Yeah thats him, North supporters absolutely idolise him. Risky proposition, given that he has barely played any AFL in the past couple of years, but was a very promising player before he was hit by injuries.
-
Jesse Smith? The Australian reports he is out of contract and may be seeking a change. Has talent, and would be a good player, if, and a big if, our medicos think he can get back on the park
-
The one big strength for Dawes is his contested mark ability - so i think any comparisons to Johnson should end. I like the look of him, from what i've seen of his career so far. Works hard for a big man, but not the most agile forward going around. But i've got to question why he hardly had a look in the Collingwood side, when they've been screaming for a decent tall forward all season, since Rocca got injured at the start of the season.
-
Hope this goes ahead. Keeping a player like Spencer on the rookie list for a 3rd year (without having them nominate for the draft first) would make our list management decisions a lot easier. It may save someone like Buckley or Bartram a spot on the list.

I was at the G yesterday at lunch time, and there were about 40 people lined up. Apparently there were a group of 10 or so that have been lining up since Wednesday! Wow thats commitment.
-
Valenti has more impact at VFL (and AFL) than Stanley does, and he'll struggle to stay on our list.
-
They are both slow midfielders with questionable disposal. Good players at VFL level, but struggle whenever they've been selected for AFL. Of course they're requesting a trade, they'll both likely be delisted. I'd consider Chris Dawes and Shannon Cox, both who aren't getting games for the Pies seniors
-
Hmmm we've reached an "in principle" agreement with Carlton. I wasn't aware they had any. Putting sentiment aside, this is a good deal for the club.
-
I seem to recall an interview with a Stkilda official who stated that they announced Riewoldt at 1, over Kosi, because they thought he would be more able to handle the pressure associated with the pick, out of the two of them. Scully looks to me like a player that won't take much notice of what the outside world is saying about him. I'm sure he'll be able to handle the pressure.

Dappa - I can't agree about your assessment of the Collingwood list. In reality the only key player to the team who will retire over the next couple of years will be Prestigiacomo. There are a couple of lesser lights, Lockyer, Johnson, O'Bree who are also near their last legs. Rocca was finished years ago. They have drafted well in recent times, got good young players playing significant roles in their teams. Whereas most of our key players from 2006 were near or on their last legs, and are now gone from our side.
-
rpfc as I understand it, another option is to give him a 3rd year on the rookie list. But it would mean he would first be eligible to be picked up by any club in the ND and PSD. If no one wants him then, we can keep him on the rooklie list for one more year.
-
If I remember correctly, i don't think the report suggested he would miss through injury. Just that he was likely to be dropped to make way for senior players playing their last game.
-
Unfortunately for Clint, I think this will be his last game in the red and blue. Possibly the same for Miller.
