  1. Except he's contracted at EFC next year, which means he simply has to turn up, train and then play next year.
  2. Italians, Bitters. For a cultured man (not to be confused with a fungal man) you clearly lack an understanding of the Romantic languages
  3. Missed the word 'and' Red. Even then, I still disagree. Speed is much more than running.
  4. I have it on good authority that our Bitters (sounds a bit like "our Kylie", but I digress) is alive and well and enjoying the company of many young, er, shall we just call them attendants, at a luxurious 2 star resort in good old Singers. Apparently the Tiger beers are taking a pounding beside the pool while the missus is off shopping for his new wardrobe. Hope the tailors don't run out of leather!
  5. They both have better foot skills and speed than MJones, ANB, Harmes, Trenners, stretch, JKH, BenKen, AVB or Terls. Oliver, Viney and Tyson don't shine in these areas either. Crouch and/or Pestia would be massive improvements to our midfield stocks.
  6. Crouch is a very good player and would be a great pick up. Adelaide looked impressive last night. In theory, I'm not too fussed about trading first rounders for mids that already have a couple of years under their belt as they should have immediate impact and still play for another 10 years. I wouldn't have said that before Team Roos, however. Assuming our trajectory continues next year, we might just become the new 'destination' club to returning players. It would be a very successful outcome if we could re-sign Watts, TMac and Jetta and then nab Hibbert and Crouch at the end of the year. It's not often a departing player doesn't get to his nominated club. Usually this only happens when unreasonable club/player expectation can't be met. It appears other clubs consider Roos/Goodwin/Mahoney fair to deal with, so let's hope some of these guys choose us.
  7. Aww c'mon pineapple. Your bio says you like pleasure seeking... you only live once! Let your hair down a little, look what it did for our Bitters....
  8. We have to turn our list over by 3 each year. Let's hope its Terls, MJones and Grimes for Hibbert, Prestia and Hurley, rather than TMac, Jetta and/or Watts. Highly unlikely, but a guy can dream can't he?!
  9. That thought is even scarier than your spelling, fence.
  10. Agreed. I'll go further and claim there are more elite players that have not won a Brownlow than those who have. Eg, Lethal, Robbie, GA Snr, Roos, Dunstall, SOS, Carey, and so on. Here's to Jobe Watson being removed from your list in the near future
  11. Try not to put words into my mouth binman. I said a Brownlow does not guarantee elite status. I do not think the umpires are the best people to judge the best player in any one year. From your first list, I count about 8 out of 30 players that I would not consider elite. Given this is Demonland, of course few here would say Jimmy was not elite. I've seen all of them play quite a bit. But that's simply my opinion, just as you consider 24 of 28 to be elite, your opinion, but not fact. I'm not using just one year in a player's career, or injury as an excuse, or going way back to 1959. Plus your numbers do not add up. I think you might've counted medals rather than medalists. Regardless, I'll agree to disagree.
  12. Sounds like a typical Mad Monday! Sometimes having a child gives AFL footballers perspective and a sense of wider purpose beyond playing and partying with their mates. A maturing effect of sorts. Will be interesting to see if it has an effect on Jake.
  13. Er.... you disagree but you give examples in which you agree? I'd add Cooney, Platten, Crawf and Couch to your list, maybe Aker too. Many non MFC footy fans would argue Jimmy was not elite. Probably right. As I said, a Brownlow in no way guarantees elite status. edit. I would define elite as refering to their career. Otherwise it's cherry picking.
  14. The Brownlow is an antiquated award system based around a group of men who should focus on the game at hand 100% and not be put in a position of deciding who is the best and fairest player in the land. Wish it were overhauled to more accurately reflect the importance it has on the football community. ATM a Brownlow in no way guarantees elite status.
  15. Not Viney? I think Jetta could be the smokey.
  16. You should do that in every post Biffen. Make it your literary genre. Like it.
  17. Got to laugh at a guy that speaks about himself in the third person!
  18. That's hilarious! Probably have Jarrod Witts no1...
  19. Cheer up Stu. Even though Eddie got out of jail, Brad Scott got fined $30k. FWIW I think Gawn is our only elite player currently with Viney not far behind. Amazing how far those two have come in the last 12 mths.
  20. His erratic, squandering behaviour is better suited to North Korea Biff. He'd be besties with Lil' Kim in no time. Would stand up to those Seoul Capitalists too.
