Stick him in the midfield. His set shots will be less of an issue there.

Struggling to make any tackle stick. It's not touch footy! -

Our forward entries are shitful. Viney and Lockard picking out Bulldog defenders completely on their own. Couldn't train that skill. -

BBO just texted me to say he was watching with a blanket, and nothing else under. -

ANB is lost. Fumbly and disposal is poor. -

Very average game, even worse umpiring. 2 x rucks not working well. English had a good 1st qtr -
The Rabbit appears to have done his knee. Is he worth less as a FA as a result?

I shall be attending. Tried to get BBO to attend with me, but he couldn't stop complaining about the weather, the time slot, Docklands stadium, the great unwashed in GA.... blah, blah, blah. It's hard to maintain interest in his conversation at the best of times, let alone the 2 hours it takes to put on his make up before the game. Those poor kids at the face painting booth get very frustrated with his selfishness. Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to face the rain on my Pat Malone. Phew! -
Lots of players can't break into their current teams for a variety of reasons. Look at Preuss at North, or even Tom Mitchell at Swans, for that matter. Not saying Day would be a star but there must be a reason he was highly rated and picked in the pointy end of his draft. I reckon the club (many clubs) would be looking hard at him.

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Moonshadow replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
If the AFL really wanted to improve GCS's playing list, they'd give them a big wad of cash and increase their SC by $5mill. Then grant them the same ability to poach out of contract stars as was done when the Suns were set up. But their woes are far greater than just their playing list. -
Yep. Different player type than Hunt. Better player than Hunt.

It looked like he actually punched the ball which was being held by Merrett. Possibly the inside of this forearm was over the shoulder. With his back to the umps, Merrett milked it for all its worth, got up spritley and took the kick. Over the shoulder free? Ok. Punch to the gut or head? No. But the media will manufacture outrage from it and he'll get a week for appearances.

You really don't have any idea how feedback works, do you?....

Cherry picking individual games isn't a sound method for managing a team list. But I guess you knew that.

I think he generally gets to the contest ok, but lacks the strength across the hips and body to impose himself upon it. Gets pushed out too easily. At 22 hears of age, that should improve. Similarly, he runs under the contest quite often, that's a timing issue which can also be worked on. I think there's a lot to like about Sam and a lot to work on to get him to where he should be at.

Any chance our resident medico @Webber is in the mix?

If this happened, I'd be as excited as..., well... these fellas:

TGR is not good with facts or perspective -
I think @Whispering_Jack has mentioned the development of Jim's son, Tiernan. He's still a few years away from TAC cup level, I think he's 12 or 13, but I believe shows some promise. I've seen him at Melbourne games with his family and he's certainly a tall lad. Brian and his family are mad Melbourne supporters, they attend games regularly. His son is not eligible for F/S, but it will be interesting to see the club's view should he be good enough and available at our pick. Would certainly create a lot of supporter emotion.

Lever for pick 10 and 19 which went to a couple of still unheard of players. That will be a steal in the years to come. No doubt about it. Lever is elite.
