  1. Gee let's bag a bloke that ND had no faith in for a few years, yet when given a chance and has improved over the season gets beaten today and you want to put the boots in him, things will only get better with teaching by DB and CO.
  2. Would not be surprised if this just a matter of going through the motions by the board and Fox would be appointed to the position in the next couple of weeks, I also hope they do pick Fox because he has worked with the best in Cook and has seen how he helped reduced their debt I think was around 6mil at the time to what they are now, also I do think the AFL would not mind it as well, even though it annoys me to say it, but we do need their help at the moment.
  3. Again another rush for people to take this out of context, where does it say that they are replacing PM? what is said that "he Jim Stynes administration is understood to be looking at Schwab as a consultant and possible mentor for the first-year CEO" as our chief financial officer George Savvides. resigned, how about we wait to see what happens instead of jumping at shadows.
  4. Growing on me the more I look at it, simple but clean.
  5. Now that is not bad, there are some on demonology that are quite good as well.
  6. So we are into the honey making business instead of pubs.....now that's lateral thinks for you......
  7. Lets take the other option, Bailey lets them have their heads to select who they want and as time goes by with his vision and future path they change the culture and views on how we do things, as an old saying goes "to change a culture you have have to show them a culture" this is what I think he is trying to do.
  8. His comments also make a mockery of our elderly leadership group. I wonder if Bailey will leave the decision in the hands of the players again next year.
  9. From the meeting of Council. General Business & Notices of Motion General Business 17 June 2008 Melbourne Football Club Item 1 Cr Colin Butler Purpose of Report: To consider a report provided by Councillor Butler on further discussions with Melbourne Football Club. Discussion On Monday 9 June a delegation of Councillors and partners and the CEO attended the MCG for the traditional Queen’s Birthday football match between Collingwood and Melbourne Football Clubs. At the luncheon prior to the match, the Chairman of Melbourne Football Club (MFC), Paul Gardner, announced his impending retirement from the position. In speaking to the guests he reflected on his time in the role as Chairman, he discussed the future of the club and in particular the direction the club needed to pursue in the future and in very positive terms the prospective partnership with the City of Casey. He described the City of Casey as outstanding in its dealings with MFC. In outlining the changes under way at MFC Mr Gardner said “In just the past twelve months, we have changed virtually our entire football department, appointed a new CEO and new Board members. We have worked closely with the State Government, AFL, MCC and other key stakeholders to develop a new strategic direction, to finalise our home at the rectangular stadium, and to hopefully grab a slice of Australia’s fastest growth corridor in the Casey precinct." As well as the Chairman speaking positively about Casey, the function’s MC (Board member Beverley O’Connor), Chris Connolly and (injured player) Aaron Davey also spoke positively about the proposed Casey relationship. The hundreds of guests present would have been clear that MFC believes that the Casey project and the club’s relationship and partnership with the City of Casey are an important part of the club’s future. The luncheon enabled Councillors to meet current and prospective members of MFC’s Board of Management and current football club staff, and to extend and strengthen the relationship between Casey and the club. It provided an opportunity for discussions with the prospective future Chairman of MFC, Jimmy Stynes, and others who may well seek election to the board. Given that the outgoing Chairman of MFC will have retired by the time this report is considered, Council will need to consider commencing liaison with the new Board of the MFC. Recommendation 1. That Council invites the new Chairman and Board Members of Melbourne Football Club to meet with the Council representatives and visit the proposed site at Casey Fields while continuing the current negotiations with the club. 2. That Council undertake any other necessary activities to familiarise the Melbourne Football Club’s new Board of Management with our municipality.
  10. Yeah did not look at the dates but still even the last one was not that hot...........lol
  11. Except for the top pic the others look as camp as a row of tents, could someone come up with a demon pic that could be used?
  12. I myself would trade Brock for a top 10 pick, last year to grab some serious talent before they all head north in the following years. Brock is talented but I think we can cover the midfield without him.
  13. So people are not aloud to have a view on BM? interesting view for a forum......
  14. Without doubt, but most supporters have no idea of the process that he and others will go through at this age but will have an orgasm when it all clicks, forget this year the next 1 to 2 years are the most important for us.
  15. Since when did the named line up line up as named, not since the 60's
  16. I to thank PG and the board for what they have done, but I will wait for the vision, plans or actions to be told to the supporters before I go into raptures, as much as JS has given us the Martin Luther King "I had a dream" speech it stills need to be backed up, but I do think that they way they have instigated the change of power is a credit to the club no blood letting. A credit to them all as this would not have happened years ago.
  17. Well cannot wait to see the grand plan from the new board.
  18. I guess the same thing he saw in Garland, and gee if my memory serves me correct most people bagged him and now he is everyones love child, how about we give them time in this developing year before we want them out.
  19. They will not take the QB game off the table between us and the Pies because of the crowds look at the attendances over the years, this is only a smokescreen because it will only show that they want us out of Victoria and they do not want to go down this path, don't get sucked into this crap, I bet the AFL know what model the club is about to take leading into the future. AD tried to meddle with NM and got burnt, will be the same with us.......
  20. I am under the impression that we are nearly paying 100% of the cap at the moment, could someone check this out please.
  21. The amount of games that would play there is 3-4 depending on the draw (if built) if that helps the club financially with some serious money then go for it, you would be surprised how many people would go to the "cauldron of Hell" (nice ring about that if I say so myself) Lets see what happens before we all condemn the plan, hell we have been screaming out for this club to come up with a plan and vision and soon as they do people bag them and give nothing but negative comments about it again lets wait to see the devil in the detail.
  22. I am with you on this one, more work has been done in the last 12 months than in 45 years, we are going forward and blue sky's are coming.
  23. I like the idea myself, at least we are thinking outside the square, could see 20,000 to 25,000 Melbourne supporters going to watch us play at Hells Stadium, only red and blue to be seen...........
  24. Now that I agree with about Neitz!!
