POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Brisbane
I agree with you in part the effort was there, and the 2nd quarter there was some really good ball movement and it showed that the only position Kossie should play is the forward line full stop, the down side was the poor coaching in the last quarter by all the coaches allowing free lion players across the backline.

Please get off Clarry's back. Show some respect!
Now this is typical on how people react just jump in with big mouths without understanding what I am saying, try that first, it was about always coming out defending on any issue when things are not going well.

Oliver will get back to his best but the reality he has deficiencies in his game but some people won't or don't admit it. Let's look at positives he is one that has decent pace, one of the best to be able to stand up in a tackle and dish the ball out, great hands picking up the ball from the ground and quick hands to get the ball out and that's great but here is where he struggles to Impact the game at an even better level, his disposals by foot are not A grade he mainly gets the ball and bangs it on the foot without looking thus creating turnovers, his decision making at times when cornered is rushed, but we got away with it because of game style of contested possessions game and now it's more of a running game it is being shown out. Now people will comeback with how many possessions he gets and the reality of stats is how you want to read them if Oliver has thirty five possessions but 10 to 12 of them are ineffective how do rate that, if 6 of those results in the the opposition scoring goes how do you rate that and if his opponent has created scoring opportunities on those turnovers how do you rate that. I think if they put in the time with him working on his deficiencies he will reach a better standard of an elite midfielder.

Fortunately or unfortunately I take what the club says by Goodwin or Max defending Oliver not in the same way as other people as the more you come out defending something the more there must be something else syndrome even though in reality there is nothing there. This club has a habit of coming out defending themselves whether it's players problems or club issues and it only keeps the fuse lit. Now I am in favour of making a statement on matters and then shut up about it people can believe what they want to believe and you won't change their mind anyway especially the media.

My knock on Oliver has been his disposal and his rush to to get rid of the pill as soon as he gets it, he has pretty good pace and in late 21 and 22 he started being more an outside player this year he's trying to be the inside player again. Time for the coaching staff to set midfield blockers or start him on the H/F line and then work him into the game, if he's starting at the first bounce run his opponent away from the contest and keep running him around never stand still, let's see what they do against the lions.

Good teams and coaches get around that and limit the tag.

Most football stats are a waste of time and are misleading they are like work surveys they can viewed on what you want the outcome to be.

I don't rate some of those awards or the yesrs connected but one bad year does not mean you hypothetically offload him, Clarry has some issues and I trust the club in helping him and we don't know all the issues that he has/is going through and unless he want to go he has enough credits in the bank to keep him. I also understand other views on this matter as Clarry needs to improve his disposal by hand and foot as they are not great even his demeanour this year is not that great. All in all things will play out at years end and it isn't in anyone's hands but Clarry and the club at the end of the day.

Think one Robert Flower might want a word about that.

Pretty well spot on with that opinion.

Kentfield doing a mini pre season at Casey the amount of running from the forward line to the backline and then the forward line again, I bet he's confused at what position he is playing...
