  1. Everything feels so flat. Our goal kicking is a blight on our coaching team. Our gun players skills are not only bad, they are worsening. The spark, the energy, the confidence has totally eroded down to not being evident at all. This feels like 2019 or 2020 - a good list playing poor footy. Unfortunately, I cannot see any change until new President, board members and new CEO have a total look at our football dept, coaching panel, and playing list. I am filthy about our state of play, and exhausted every time I watch them play. Apart from Gawn, our "leaders" stated today that they are the problem, but maybe not the solution. May, Viney, Trac, Oliver, Salem.
  2. I love my football club so much, but I don't think I can do this anymore. Oliver, Sparrow and Petty doing that. Viney doing that. All the hard work down back and through the midfield, to be finished in this way. I am too exhausted and too disappointed.
  3. Yeah, a lot to like about his Casey debut. Nowhere near AFL ready, but gets to the right places, marks at the highest point, kicks well and has a natural ruck awareness.
  4. Highlights for me were Kalani White, Jeffo & Verrall. Love seeing the big men play well and it gives us hope at AFL level post Gawn, and for marking forward inside F50.
  5. I'm getting some very nice vibes from Kalani white's debut.
  6. 2 really bad stuff ups with atrocious kicking which should have been 2 goals.
  7. No, he was spoilt by a clumsy team mate. He is looking very sharp tonight.
  8. Verrall's ruck work is pretty good tonight, and Jeffo looks strong in the air.
  9. Howler of a game in Tassie. Whose brilliant decision was it to schedule a night game in Tassie in winter? Slippery cold snooze fest with tackles, stoppages and carp skills. I put it on mute in the background and watched the cricket - great innings from Stark and a good backup from Hazelwood.
  10. Until we can't make the finals we have to continue picking best 22. However, I want to see Jefferson and JVR in the same team, with Melk, Fritsch and Kozzie playing around them. I know these two younger boys haven't shown too much but I still believe they can.
  11. May Oliver Gawn Turner Langdon Kozzie
  12. Really proud of the game our players played. Massive effort. Our first half missed chances come back to haunt us again. Lots of pressured mistakes from both teams. A couple of late brain fades from Max didn't help but we gave it a red hot go. Josh Daicos is a gun, and is also humble and decent. His brother is an amazing player at best but is also an entitled, soft, lippy, golden child who the umpires favour.
  13. One of Melk or Fritsch to be subbed in 3rd quarter. Their decision making today has been momentum-robbing. JVR has to stay on, he is working his butt off. rivers has been very very disappointing. These in-close handballs of his are a cheap way to relieve the pressure on himself. Well done Langers. Composure in F50 continues its frustrating dysfunction.
  14. ANOTHER poor turnover and they get another goal. so frustrating.
  15. We are playing really, really well. Finish each transition and we will murder them.
  16. They are only getting goals from our mistakes. And we are missing goals we should get. Our mistakes and the umpiring are keeping the Pies in this.
  17. Looks like a team effort to me.
  18. Great pressure and intent. Good sign for us so far is goals from Sparrow and Kolt. Langford & Lindsay involved. Umpires are the Pies best player.
  19. Playing well, they can't cope with our pressure. Only a turnover allowed them a cheap goal. Great tackle from Lindsay.
  20. Windsor as sub does not surprise me. He is my 2nd favourite current player but his move to defence has shown his defensive limitations. I hope he burns it up when he comes on. I am surprised by Kolt being selected on form, but the coaching and footy department love him and are backing him in.
  21. I can't say I feel confident but I do feel eager. If we put our best from season '25 against Pies best season '25, they win by 10-20 points. So we must deny them their best game, and we must kick straight. Big games from Sparrow and Bowey will help negate their best. Their only forward in genuine form is Elliot, most of their other goals coming from midfielders. Let' go boys.
  22. They often travel to these suburbs in daylight hours to do recon for their "extra-curricular nocturnal activities". Also, some of their dentists live there.
  23. I come from a long line of Dees supporters, it runs deep and wide in my blood. Our hatred of all things black and white come from generations of loathing, but in particular the 58 grand final. My dear Mum's heart almost gave out when we recruited a Weideman!! I was born just after this 64 GF game and it was part of the family's story telling. I will enjoy finding a quiet spot tonight and watch the entire game through. Interesting insights into skills etc... Footy really was tough and hard, get the ball and move it towards your goal immediately. No fuss, no other real game plan except for go wide when defending. Tackling these days is so far advanced. When I got to open age footy, the old reserves players who were 35-40 yo were still doing drop kicks and I was wearing the old nail in stops with hard toe boot which came up over the ankle. Dixon, Barassi, Hassa-Mann, Tuddenham - all these blokes could transfer their game into this era and still excel. Thanks for sharing - always great to go down memory lane.
  24. I watched the Casey v Pies VFL game last night, and have been watching the North v Eagles game since quarter time. Very similar game styles, similar pressure, similar (poor) skills. Absolute snooze fest. So much of our great game has devolved into a defensive network to strangle opposition, followed by fast break turnover, and finished off by exhausted players who can't kick due to exhaustion. I loathe the Hawks and Pies but their kicking skills (and the Crows) make them at the least very watchable.
  25. Incredible goal to Billings in the rain. Set shot n the boundary from 45 metres out.
