  1. Yeah, today's a bit boring. 2 teams that not many people have much of an interest in. I hope Florida gets up solely because they have been bad for so long, their fans deserve some success. Washington/Boston tomorrow should be a beauty. Go Washington!
  2. He was 1 week away last week so will hopefully be playing VFL this week.
  3. Does Aker have any close friends ANYWHERE??
  4. Ahhh that explains it. I'm usually good with all the numbers, but I couldn't think of who was #32. When I was looking on the team website I must've just been looking at the Senior List and not the Rookie List. Thanks for clarifying, and good luck trading
  5. Whenever I read these threads I get incredibly frustrated with people who don't take the time to spell our players' names correctly. We all support the same team, but as a matter of respect to the players, spell their damn names right! We do not have a Bartrum, Sellars, Tom Macdonald, Joel McDonald, Pettard, Maloney, Silvia, Clarke or Trengrove. It takes two seconds to get it right; please make the effort.
  6. It's always going to be a problem, and it won't start to get better until we do as a team. Even if we do become a good team supporters will still become frustrated, angry, and abusive towards our players simply due to the competitive nature of the sport. Perhaps try sitting in less crowded areas, or even near opposition supporter groups so that your daughters don't hear the abuse slung by Demons supporters onto their favourite players.
  7. Blackhawks are out. Only 3 first-round series still going: Florida-New Jersey, Ottawa-New York Rangers, Washington-Boston.
  8. I was simply wondering why we haven't seen a decrease in injuries since hiring Misson. Misson's job is, amongst other things, to reduce injuries by buiding up fitness bases and helping to control and monitor loads. I never claimed the club or Misson were responsible for the injuries, I just made an observation. I never claimed a sports science background. You got mighty worked up about a 2 line statement. I hope your blood stops boiling from my 'uninformed snipes'. This Keyboard Hero is done with this discussion.
  9. I thought that having Misson and his elite sports science background was supposed to reduce our number of injuries. We seem to have had more injuries in the first part of the season than we had Pre-Misson! Get well soon, Josh!
  10. Weren't all the guernsey's worn by the players? If so who had #32? Sorry...I wasn't lucky enough to nab on the them to swap with you...I'm just curious. Good luck!
  11. Haven't got an answer for you there. The helmets are pretty strong, but there will always be concussion issues as it is a contact sport. I think they need to enforce having face shields or at the least visors to prevent facial injuries from stray sticks and pucks. It is a step up on what they had 50 years ago though. Imagine being a goalie and playing without a helmet? Insane! Check out this image of Taylor Hall. He stepped on a puck during warmup and fell over, slid into his team mate (knocking him over) and got cut on the face by another player's skate who was jumping trying to avoid them. http://i.thestar.com/images/62/0c/fa9961884d66829095ec95e2ef1e.jpeg
  12. Just as long as Ottawa don't win it I'll be happy. I think I'll follow Los Angeles simply because they upset the Canucks and have an exciting young team. Bruins came close to losing yesterday. It wouldn't come as a big surprise to see them go back-to-back though. I also don't mind St. Louis because I admire the way that they have rebuilt their team over the last couple of years.
  13. That's true, but it won't stop him being targeted by the opposition. The harsh suspensions don't deter some from hitting others illegally because it is the job that their coach sends them out to do. For some of them this is the only trait that keeps them getting games. It's a shame that such a good end to the regular season was put to waste. The Penguins probably have the best roster in the league, their goaltending just let them down in the playoffs.
  14. I think that everybody's team in this thread is out. That was quick haha!
  15. I feel bad for him because he is targeted by opposition players all the time, and the number of concussions he has received has had a huge impact on his (still young) career. He is by far the greatest talent going around the NHL, and I love him when the Olympics comes around and he's on my team. He just tends to always (IMO) berate the refs and ask them for penalties that aren't there. I agree that it wouldn't bother me if he were on my team, so hopefully his concussion problems are behind him and he gets traded to the Leafs in the offseason (one can dream...)
  16. Penguins are out. By far the best series I've seen...it had everything.
  17. I'm glad Neeld didn't let him play. Sets a standard for the rest of the players. Hopefully he'll slot straight back in next week and not have to go through the VFL. We've really missed him so far this year.
  18. Of those I'd be most concerned about Hayes, Riewoldt, Goddard and Dal Santo. Frawley to Riewoldt, could be interesting to put Watts on Goddard. Magner to Hayes and Jones to Dal Santo. Who should play on Milne? Bartram? Maybe bring Tynan in...could be a good learning experience for him.
  19. Out: Dunn, McDonald, Macdonald In: Grimes, Sylvia, Couch Sylvia and Grimes are both automatic inclusions, and Couch really deserves a shot after his NAB Cup and VFL performances.
  20. 6. Rivers 5. Bate 4. Bail 3. Jones 2. Morton 1. Davey
  21. I'm sorry. I fully respect how good he is. By far the most skilled player in the game. He just tends to be a bit of a favourite with the refs. Similar to one C Judd.
  22. Based on the post above yours it looks like we no longer have them as sponsors.
