POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs West Coast
Titus’s take on the game sums it up perfectly West Coast (38) v Melbourne (112) Expansion team West Coast continue to struggle this season but there were some promising signs as they only suffered their biggest loss to Melbourne in their history. The Demons scored 41 points in the first quarter, meaning they didn’t have to score again, and they still would have won the game. That’s almost what they did, as the Eagles lifted their intensity and managed to drag the Demons down to their level for long periods of the match. Melbourne though are like a boxer who tried to win on points, not knockouts. They do enough to make sure they don’t lose. They can score, but they prefer to let their opponent wear themselves out. The result of this approach is 16 wins on the trot, a feat I still struggle to comprehend. I’ve gone decades where it felt like we only won sixteen games. The thing about sport is you must enjoy the good times because we all know, the bad times are not exactly rare.

NON-MFC: Round 9, 2022
I know we would be a different side without Petracca or Oliver but is there a team more reliant on one player than Richmond is on Dusty?

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
I had not thought of that scenario, it makes a fair bit of sense

The Veil of Negativity is gone … forever?
It is so, so wonderfully predictable watching opposition teams try to rebound out of our forward line. They get to our half forward and then go sideways or back. You know for a fact they are now stuffed as we have had time to get organised behind the ball. They foof around but it is just a matter of time before: A). They kick it down the line where one of our talls marks it or it gets hit out of bounds or less likely B). They are ‘daring’ and go to the corridor where the ball gets intercepted or ends in a ball up. Either way they lose possession. I keep promising myself not to take all this for granted

2022 List and Contract Details
Given he is unlikely to make it as a forward is there and chance the 24yo, 197cm Sam Weideman could make it as a tall back? He is with us till at least the end of 2023.

Where does Gus play when Salem returns?
Salem back to the mens club Brayshaw back to the wingers club Jordon back to the 23 club

Why Petracca, Oliver & Gawn could be best Demons yet
I would love to see Robbie play the wing in our current team. He would fit in seamlessly

TEAMS: Rd 08 vs St. Kilda
Laurie getting named is probably an encouragement award
-
NON-MFC: Round 07, 2022
I’ll look for the highlights package of this game just to watch Essendon have goals kicked against them

How the Rift between Woewodin & the Dees was Healed
If we can now bring Junior back into the fold our club will be properly reunited.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs GWS
Crap decision but nothing to do with being a woman. Pull your head in mono
-
Robert Flower
I ha ha’d at that but Brayshaw could probably give the full forward role a fair shake
-
Gil McLachlan Stepping Down
There isnt one of us would have wanted to navigate the AFL through the pandemic. To get us through that is extraordinary

CASEY: Rd 03 vs Williamstown
Admittedly it is a draft write up which are always pretty glowing, but a 194cm+, 2.90sec 20m sprint and a (almost) record breaking 2k time trial is tantalising. I’m pretty sure the Club were looking at making a winger out of him but understandably is still a work in progress. Another Sandringham player with a lot of upside, Rosman was 192cm last year but is now 194cm and could still grow a little more as well; with his speed and reach on the lead, that extra height could be handy. With a frame to build on and a bucketful of natural athleticism and x-factor, the potential Rosman has is on the very high end. Rosman’s athleticism was certainly on show at the combine with some eye-catching results; notching 2.90 seconds in the 20m sprint and an incredible 5:52 time in the 2km time trial, which was two seconds behind the previous record breakers Jay Rantall and former Dragon, Finn Maginness before Harry Sharp broke that record again. Regardless, both of those results are elite for Rosman and they are a very rare combination to have. His leap tests were solid at the start of the year and he certainly likes to jump at the ball when marking.

NON-MFC: Round 4, 2022
Yes I only just realised I don’t watch non-Melbourne games to see who wins, but rather to barrack for a side to lose. Huge shame that the Bombers got up, the Hawthorn match is looking promising and hopefully the wheels can fall off the Carlton bandwagon. I’m not a nice person.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide
Wrong thread I know but fair to say our AFLW side is in good hands

AFLW: Coach & Captain of the Year
If there was ever any doubt that Mick wasn’t the right person for the job this should dispel that. Fair to say he is much loved by the playing group. If he can get a win on Saturday it would be a brilliant coaching effort given I believe Adelaide is basically a highly skilled, fast and strong State side

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Port Adelaide
It will be interesting to see how Port back up after that after-the-siren showdown loss. It has to emotionally take it out of them.

NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
Agree. Carlton won’t get any better and eventually a couple of wheels will fall off

AFLW VOTES: PF vs Brisbane
First three pick themselves, can toss up order 6. Bannan 5. Paxman 4. Colvin Then 3. L Pearce Then a half dozen + players could fill the next two spots 2. Hanks 1. Heath Apologies to Gay, Goldrick, McNamara, D Pearce and Mithen

NON-MFC: Round 3, 2022
Wonder if premiership player Ben Brown is having any regrets about leaving?
-
POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon
Not only are we 3/0 after winning the premiership Jaded but our AFLW team is playing for a flag next week. Our VFL side is sitting on top of the ladder and our VFLW is also sitting on top undefeated after 6 games. We are leading in all 4 competitions. Imagine the amount of substance abuse you’d need to come up with that scenario a few years ago. We are a seriously well run club

GAMEDAY: AFLW Preliminary Final vs Brisbane Lions
Apologies for the negativity but I think Brisbane will be too good for us - too quick, skilled and even across the park. On the plus side last week I also predicted that Sam Weideman had played his last game for the AFL side so what do I know.

GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Essendon
I hate Essendon above all other teams because of their arrogance, their brutality in the 2000 GF, going to Windy Hill, their arrogance and their absolute refusal to accept responsibility or come clean about what they gave the players when they drug cheated. I also find them particularly arrogant. Back in 2012-15 I used to make a deal with a god that I don’t believe in, that I could live with just one win for the year as long as that was against the Bombers

GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Essendon
A combined 8 goals to Ben Brown and Kossie. You know it makes sense.
