Demonlanders help purchase Liam's debut guernsey...
Pates replied to the fork's topic in Melbourne Demons
I will be there, i'm looking forward to meeting my fellow demonland posters! -
I think if a team is going to get a priority pick it should come after everyone else (like what we got last year), i wouldn't be so willing for our team to lose if that was what we were getting. And i think the bottom team should always get pick one, regardless of where another team who's won less over aggregate finishes. There is way too much to gain from losing and the AFL must change it.

Coming off a win, 18,300.

Much excitement, and happiness. 24 hours later i may feel a bit worried about the possibility of losing pick 1, but i haven't witnessed a victory this year, and i can't remember the last time i followed the Dees and didn't see a win for the whole season!

Heart says win, head says lose. My first game for a while though, so i'm looking forward to it.

Apart from the Troy Broadbridge memorial game, this past week i have never been prouder to be a Melbourne fan. Seeing the way everyone (players, admins, fans, footy world) rallied behind Jim, and the response to this fantastic idea from fork, it's given me goosebumps! I'm going to look into whether i can go to the guernsey presentation, i think it'll be something special. -
I would be there in less than a heartbeat, and i tried to get work off to be there, but somethings just weren't meant to be. I will be thinking about the boys and Jimmy the whole time, this is our only must win game of the year.
-
If there were any week we should be thinking solely about winning it should be this one. Win it for Jimmy, i say.

Paid my $25 (figured what's another 5 bucks!). DN123341 -
I'm hoping for a win next week (because one of my mates goes for the Coasters!), Fremantle and Carlton (mainly because in our good years we kept losing to them despite them being on the bottom). I don't know why anyone wouldn't hope for 3 more wins, get as much pleasure as you can!

I'll chuck $20 into the kitty, this is such a brilliant idea and i want to be apart of it! -
If it wasn't going to be Bailey I'd have to go with Viney. I think he's got the goods to be a very good coach.

I will go on record saying earlier this that i was done waiting with Col. I wouldn't say i'd given up on him, but i no longer looked at him as someone who'll improve to add enough value to the side. This article is very open and frank, imagine having all your friends or co-workers (all at once) saying they don't trust or respect you. As Colin said, i don't think he's turned a corner, the fact that he is now busting his gut to do that is great to see, and i can definitely see it out there. Fantastic to here the alternative ways Bails is going about not just coaching, but teaching his players to be better people.

Casey Scorpions v Werribee Tigers - colours & squads

I dissagree, if nothing else when it comes to Brad Miller you can always expect him to be spent at the end of the game and when other players talk about people who work the hardest both on the track and game day, it's always Miller and Bruce they point to. Bailey dropping Robbo last week and Miller this week has proven that no spot is a certainty, Miller has been fairly poor these last few weeks but put in a good performance for Casey and deserves a call up (if there is a spot available). As for Newton, what i saw yesterday has not swayed me in the least regarding where he belongs. He is working harder, but he seems destined to hover between VFL and AFL standard. -
If they try to have a go at Watts early keep an eye on both McLean and Moloney, Beamer especially because he knows exactly what this day means and he is one person i would not want to [censored] off! Green would probably be the closest in the forward 50 who'd be there to back him up.
-
Fair enough, as i said i only caught the second half of the saints game and i thought he was average-good. My point is that i think we need Robbo in this week if we want our best chance at winning, and given that a forward or a ruckam probably has to go they were the only players i could possibly think of, and i pointed out that i wouldn't be dropping Maric on form.
-
For me it's: IN: Watts, Robbo OUT: Miller, Maric/Jamar From what i saw last week, and i should say that i only managed to catch the second half (just my luck), every time we went forward we were crying out for a key target. Robbo may be erratic and just plain bizarre but he's a proven performer in games like this, so we need him back in, he's gone to Casey and served his penance. It was tough deciding who should come out for Watts and Robbo, i decided on Miller because he has been very poor the last few weeks and i think he not only needs a run at Casey but deserves it. Maric and Jamar were the only other players i could see coming out, PJ has been very good from what i've seen the last few weeks and shouldn't be dropped, so that left one of those two (forward for forward or a ruckman). Good luck to the match committee, it ain't an easy week.

I'll definitely be there, really enjoyed it last year. -
Last year we were designated to a section just next to my usual spot in the northern stand, but the website just says it's the designated home game.
-
I'd definitely be up for it, if the club isn't going to do anything we should organise something ourselves.
-
Fantastic to read, thanks for coming on here. Great to hear the deal with Casey is moving along, best of luck with council approval. It's a pleasure having you back at the club.

I heard an interview with Moloney on SEN and KB made the point that once a young developing team starts losing by less and less, the pain from losing gets more intense. Moloney agreed and stated that he enjoyed Bailey's coaching methods. Every time i watch a game this year i see more improvement in different areas, i'm very comfortable with Bailey at the helm.
