  1. Was talking to a Richmond supporting mate who tells me they have like a directors cut with audio from the coaches box etc while the game is played. Sounded awesome. Be great if we come up with stuff like that. I'm also a huge fan of what the yanks do with a show called "Americas Game." They interview players, talk through Pre-season, each game and their play-off series culminating in the Superbowl. They've done it every season from the 60s and is brilliant for sportfans. Can you-tube a few different ones. With my favourite being the 1981 49ers which reminded me of us. (which I can't find) Another that amused me highly was 2007 NY Giants if ya wanna have a look. Click on the you-tube link. 1976 Raiders.
  2. Nah. He'll be a bigger and more dominant Bontempelli. Won't be long and he'll be tearing games apart and winning Norm Smiths.
  3. I've never been a fan of the Titanic music to footy clips either. It was more the slow motion vision of the players reactions to taking top spot that did it. Especially Oliver. Guy is just driven to win.
  4. I guess it's true what they say. Some people are just never happy.
  5. The last 32 seconds of the 3rd was the best 32 seconds of my life. Watched it at least 10 times again last night. Kozzies block. Tracs all class dribbler. James Brayshaw .... "Christian Petracca no way." Settling back at the bounce "Lets go Demons .... Another one." I asked the footy gods. Viney to Trac to Oliver streaming forward to Sparrow and the bomb. TMac in a show of strength on the line and hist fist pump. Even Brian Taylor. "This is gonna be a big one, Sparrow to make it a 3goal 3/4 time lead .... He's got it, MELBOURNE ARE UP BY 3GOALS on the eve of 3/4 time." I've said it before but I was forken redlining right here. Roaring and fist pumping harder than Sparrow. The boys making their power move in the premiership quarter before my very eyes. Back at the bounce with 30 seconds to go. Now the football world raves about Scarletts toe poke to Ablett in their GF. Viney putting Jackson into space with one of his own was also footy genius. Jackson bolting forward like a 6'5' gazelle the 19yr old displays his own high footy IQ by-passing Viney handballing to Oliver "Streaming through" in a relentless wave straight down the middle. The crowd starts roaring off the boot as they do when it looks good from down town. The goal umpire leaning right back as it sails directly over his head. Brayshaw again "Bang ... Bang, Bang, Bang!" Another fist pump on the goal from TMac who's starting to see his dreams come true. Oliver and Jackson charging away together mobbed by their teammates with a pair of 1 finger salutes. Sparrow under the wing of Oliver, one of the sides leaders who's just torn the heart from the dogs and holding it aloft. If I was redlining after Sparrows goal I found a whole new level I didn't know I even had at this moment. Pure , unadulterated ecstasy maybe .... Dunno, but the world went fuzzy there for abit. There was much heroics from many players in that game and I could be here all day but that 32seconds ...... Holy forken sheet. Un forken real .... Just Legendary. Said to my daughter at 3/4 time. "Another couple quick ones and it'll be party time." And the boys come out and did just that so I could sit back and spend the last qr shaking my head chuckling at the surreal realisation that I was actually watching the Mighty Demons win the Grand final. Top item on my bucket list ticked off 🏆 ✔️ At peace with the world.
  6. Well like me .... His whole life 😂
  7. Buckle up man. If we don't win at least 2 more over the next few years I'll be very surprised. Monkey's off the back, the list is young, talented, hungry with no holes.
  8. Yeah well. This club has taught me how to deal with disappointment over the years but when Bontempelli kicked his 3rd ..... I was sliding into a dark tunnel.
  9. Gotta say. Thank fork they did win. While riding the amazing high I think of the depths of despair I'd be in if they hadn't. After the season that was it woulda been real tough.
  10. A week or so ago I needed to provide answers to questions for online verification. With my oldest daughter and wife peering over my shoulder I finally found a question on the list I liked. Q. What is the best moment of your adult life? "'Easy." A. Melbourne flag. "What !!! .... Not the birth of your children?" exclaimed the 1st born. I explained that I had been practically raised as a child at the MCG watching the Demons and have been hungering for that elusive Premiership my whole life. Marriage, kids, yadda, yadda were never that high on my priority list 😅 It has been a long hard road but now all my tears be washed away. Go the Mighty Demons.
  11. I never enjoyed seeing a our captains over the years posing with a cup they never looked like getting near either. You gotta earn that right IMO.
  12. I was. Was telling a bloke at work after the Prelim that I had never seen a more complete game from a Melbourne side .... Ever. He reckoned we might've played our Grand Final a week too early. "They won't play that well again." he declared. "They won't have to." I told him. Many said it'll be a close game as the Dogs had also easily won their Prelim. Yeah they did, but they didn't do it like we did. Also told any-one that come near me that we Melbourne supporters would be celebrating by 3/4 time. Drinking in the last quarter. Whenever I thought of the game in the 2 weeks lead up all I could see was Gawn, Oliver, Petracca and Jackson dominating the midfield blasting from the centre as they do. Couldn't see Naughton and Weightman kicking more than a couple goals each amongst our AA backline. And the dogs defence wouldn't stop our forward line fed by the mids. Our side had no holes .... None. Right down to the last player. Hats off to the dogs for their 2nd quarter tho'. They played well. That wasn't in the plan at all and if I said I wasn't spooked I'd be lying but in the end that just made the comeback and destruction that followed even more glorious than I thought it'd be. There is nothing better than watching your champions do exactly what you know they can do on the biggest stage of all. I waited a long time for that Premiership but won't have to wait long for the next one. Abit less than 11mths by my reckoning. Go the Mighty Demons.
  13. Just got abit choked up watching this. Top of the Ladder. What a season. Forkin' legends.
  14. Yeah man. Petracca and Gawns misses on the run from outside fiddy in the last qr of the GF still rankle.
  15. Was talking to my sister recently who declared when watching the replay she started full sobbing crying for 5mins when Gawn won the toss 😂
  16. I'm with you man. This side will get that 4peat we missed in the 50's.
  17. I hope there are no crowd restrictions and we turn the G into a sea of red and blue.
  18. Thought in the 2weeks lead up the the GF Choco would have been doing his version of Micky getting in the ears of all the young blokes on the list. Also heard at half time when we were under the pump that Goodwin was his usual composed self when addressing the players. It was Choco who got in there and ripped a charge up 'em in no uncertain terms, told 'em what they weren't doing. Pressure, sticking tackles, smothers etc. All the 1% stuff that wins you GF's.
  19. Have been meaning to post this as well. It was after Sparrow kicked his and the every-one went in the stadium went mad. Every-one but Williams. Been there done that, seen it all before. He's been around football clubs at the top levels his whole life. Knows what makes footballers tick and how to bring the best from them. Experience like his doesn't grow on trees.
  20. Credit to the club for enabling Kozzie to have the time off and credit to Kozzie repaying that trust to come back fit.
  21. I think we were rightly rewarded for playing exciting footy.
