I teared up twice during that year. When Gawn kicked the goal after the siren against Geelong to put us on top at the end of the Home and Away season. The 1st time in my life they'd done it. Then a few weeks later when Gawn kicked his bomb from fiddy-5 in the prelim. Was that moment I knew the big captain was takin' us to the Big Dance. As for the GF I thought I was redlining when Sparrow kicked his goal till I found I had a whole next level again when Oliver sent his through. Pure adrenalin overload, lost my freakin' mind. What a magical season.

Espicially since every time they played each other Gawn would give Grundy a bath.

Chances are even if the GF was at the "G" I wouldn't have been able to get a ticket so watching on TV didn't bother me. What bothered me was that were all locked down so I couldn't watch it with my father and sister. It also bothered me that we couldn't go to the post game party and celebrate with the faithful. Would've been absolutely epic that night.

On the night I thought Kozzie would go as he's got form. Been reading the outrage over the last couple days here thinking you're all just biased. Anyway ... I've just had a look again at the vision. And I agree, Moore dropped at the last second when Kozzie was already committed to the bump. Having said that we all know they're hot on those who "Choose to bump". Problem is that penalties appear to depend on who the offenders are and which club they belong too. Whenever there's a decision to be made the AFL follow the money. If the decision potentially effects their bottom line they'll concoct some BS loophole to find the defended not guilty. Makes no difference to them if Kozzie misses the first 3games next year. But Patrick Cripps missing a final for eg ... It'd be incidental contact, act of play yadda, yadda, yadda ... AFL and the MRP are corrupt AF.

Watching freo in the last was alot like watching us. Poor skills with no composure.

I thought Kozzie tripping over his own feet summed up the season myself. Summed up the last 3seasons TBH.

We are forken horrible. Sheethouse skills and sheethouse decision making. And Goodwin won't fix it over the summer. We might get a few guns back and get a few wins but we'll still be sheethouse to watch. Cause that's playin' "The Melbourne way."

I really thought he had a chance as he had a great year running off half back. I don't think the opposition coaches rated him and let him run free. That changed after his Brownlow and he struggled with the attention IMO. Was very professional back then to the extent of diet and weighing his food portions etc which not many seemed to be doing. Will always remember this running rippa.

There's that many AFL related shows out there who need something to talk about to fill in their time so will run with anything they can get their hands on to BS on about. Last year I was listening to the radio pre-game and one of the fools floated some rubbish and another shot it down straight away. Reply was something like " Thanks for that Browny. We've got six minutes to kill before game time and you just shut that down." Problem is we seem to give them plenty of BS to run with.
