I'd suggest participation rates dropping across the board might have something to do with it. Half the kids these days would rather stay home on the Playstation. But anyone who's watched Spaniards - "Into the Hoods" of Alice Springs and Darwin on You-tube might have a little more understanding. Meh ... Just looked and he's 27yrs old. When I think of Port it's Wines, Butters, Rozee and Horn-Francis who come to mind. Not Houston. Must be an accumulator, someone who gets the ball a shedload but does nothing with it. And if he was any good, I'd know who he was and Port would be better than they are.

Is Houston actually any good or overhyped cause of the draft? He's never caught my attention.

Don't wanna burst any-ones bubble but we've never been a destination club. Maybe in the 50's when they all wanted to play on the MCG. The club and media made rumblings about being a destination club after the flag but who did we land? Name me a big name recruit since .... Peter Moore and Templeton. If we have their name escapes me.

I was more excited about Brayshaw than Hogan when they come to the club. Kid was a fearless beast from the get go.

Ah yes .... That's how we roll. The club can't handle success. Gets a sniff of it and then pushes the self destruct button. Even in the GF were so close to an epic Melbourne choke it wasn't funny. It turned out the happiest day of my life but they also had me sliding down a dark tunnel early in the 3rd lemme tell ya.

I teared up twice during that year. When Gawn kicked the goal after the siren against Geelong to put us on top at the end of the Home and Away season. The 1st time in my life they'd done it. Then a few weeks later when Gawn kicked his bomb from fiddy-5 in the prelim. Was that moment I knew the big captain was takin' us to the Big Dance. As for the GF I thought I was redlining when Sparrow kicked his goal till I found I had a whole next level again when Oliver sent his through. Pure adrenalin overload, lost my freakin' mind. What a magical season.

Espicially since every time they played each other Gawn would give Grundy a bath.
