10 goals against the cellar dweller and failing to kick a solitary goal in the last against the Aints. Don't shoot the messenger. You wanted to hear who said what. I told you. Take it up with Chaplin.- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Dunno man. He's had a few opportunities to show what he's got and it hasn't been real lot. You'd think he woulda been fit this year unless Goody was gifting him games. I did think it looked as if he was trying too hard at times and it wasn't working.- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Pre-game on MMM Chaplin declared they planned to be more attacking. And I thought .... Good.- Simon Goodwin Sacked
I disagree. Rivers kicks might not hit every target but at least they spin correctly. Unlike the full mongrels Trac and Clarrie let go.- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
And so were the recruiters. Any kid that lairy has got to be good .... Right.- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Do that from this moment on and I'll be good with it. Make footy fun again. For us and the players.- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Yeah we lost but that's the most entertaining game I've seen us play since the flag probably. Coincidence ...... I think not. Onward and upward. Go the Demons.- GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Culley can play.- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I'm not in charge of the club so sadly won't be sitting on any selection panel even if we actually have one. Don't know what's gonna happen but I do want a coach with an attacking mindset. Sick of being bored to death watching us trying to strangle the opposition to death in an continuous scrum. Sick of watching us trying (Usually very poorly) to defend leads in the last qtr instead of increasing them. As Mitchell told his Hawthorn players at 3/4 time before they ran over the top of us ..... "Entertain me." We gotta excite the membership, get bums on seats, eyes on the TV. Continue to be boring in this day and age when everything out there is screaming for your attention and you're finished. FINISHED.- Simon Goodwin Sacked
And if i had a penny for every organisation that died cause they didn't evolve....... Take no risks, make no runs.- Simon Goodwin Sacked
So you're both guessing. Got it.- Simon Goodwin Sacked
Typically rich from Eddie Got rid of Malthouse for Buckley after he coached them to finals 9 times from 12 seasons. Won the 2010 flag and was runner up in 2011 which was his last game as Collingwood coach. When Malthouse was asked if he looked at the coaching "Succession plan" as a sacking he said he did.- Simon Goodwin Sacked
Wow Wee. Just heard the news. Gotta say it feels surreal. My 1st thought when I saw the headline on You-Tube was "Ah .... Clickbait." Loved that he delivered a flag. Hated that he bored me to tears since. Win or lose I look forward to abit more excitement around the club .... And hopefully the gameplan. Onward and upward. Go the Demons.- Time to go Goody?
Had a collingwood clown chipping me about our supporters not turning up to games. Told him melbourne supporters tend to have more going on in their lives than going to watch a game to mindlessly chant "Collinggggwooood". Quietened him down .- Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Keep 'em both and sack Goodwin.- GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
Yea Ha. Great grab.- GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
Goodwin won't change. Even last week he would've gone to the board and told 'em the gameplan is fine as it led to a 46pt 3/4 lead.- GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs West Coast
My guess is that it looks like a better crowd on TV when every-ones at ground level.- From the vault
- After the Great Choke
Every coach out there would tell their players at 3/4 time,"Keep the pressue up and Melbourne will fall apart. It's been proven time and time again."- POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
You presume correct.- POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
I had an experience like that in the 2000 teens sometime against the aints one time. Melbourne hit the front with 20seconds to go and they running around celebrating like they'd won the game. My daughter of similar age comes ups, declares there's only 20seconds to go and we'll win. I said "20seconds darlin', anything could happen." Bounced the ball, straight outta the middle and Montagna into an open goal. Seen it all before. Far too regularly.- POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Goodwin and all his talk of learnings. Last time we played the saints I was listening to the pre-game on the radio. Steve Johnson declares that for the saints to win they need Wanganeen-Milera to have a big game and Melbourne should put someone on him as he was the threat. Goodwin let him run free and we got our backside handed to us. Fast forward to our next game and what happens ..... Goodwin learns freakin' nothing. On a different note today I was watching the Saints warm-up and noted how young they all were. When an opposition team gets a run on like that I expect our experienced leaders to steady the ship. Gawn does sometimes but Petracca , Oliver, Viney etc, our premiership winning guns against these kids. Absolutely useless. - From the vault
