The once only Nudge/Chili rumor round up
DemonWA replied to Tolstoys Nudge's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nice one, I'd be happy with any of these trades aside from ones involving trading garland! -
I thought this was going to be like Range Rover digging up old posts for "I told you so" credits.... I only signed up in 2010 so dont recall 2SJ, but was a sad post to read.

The Free Agency/Trade/Draft Rumour File
DemonWA replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I envy how the Tigers are seemingly now the most appealing club for a borderline player to make his new home. -

Harry O is a holier than thou [censored], but he can play footy. I'd happily have him in our side. -

After kicking 67 goals and 32 behinds in 14 WAFL matches this year, Fremantle are considering offering former West Coast Eagles Premiership CHF, Ashley Hansen, a spot on their rookie list as insurance incase they cant land another KPF during trade week to compliment Pav. -
The Free Agency/Trade/Draft Rumour File

I hear GWS is looking to offer another 6 year contract to another marque signing following the success of Israel Falou and Tom Scully. Quade Copper is on the top of their list, as he is apparently disenchanted with union and is looking for a change of code. Next on their list is Ryan Giggs, as the Giants are disgruntled at the amount of media attention that Sydney FC are getting since his signing Alessandro Del Piero. -

i have no problem having a look at him. I'd assume he'd be an upgrade from Couch etc

We all thought we got it wrong, but did we really?
DemonWA replied to Demon Forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
We did get it wrong. It may not look like it from a glance over our playing list, but 2011 & 2012 showed what a footy side looks like without any real leaders. Even if Junior had been injured for some or most of 2011, Green as a stand in captain with his mate Bruce playing along side him may have given our list some decent leadership in tough times. -
He wont be a long term signing, but would be a good player for a couple of years for us. Better than a speculative draft pick, better than most VFL/SANFL/WAFL recruits. I'd prefer to get Byrnes on 2 years than keep Bate, Petterd etc
-
Good post mate. I'd Add Luke Blackwell to that list
-
Clubs that delist players before the trade period mustn't rate the players in question. At best they are options if we can't get anyone better during the trade period. I'd prefer a draft pick on young talent TBH.

I like tappy, and whilst i agree he needs to find the ball more often, hes a good player and is a long terrm prospect for us
-
If caddy isnt interested then lets look at people who are

Being a swannies supporter, and watchig their final vrs the sharks on the weekend i dont think he'd give us more than Nicholson/Magner/Couch/Tapscott etc. As you said PsD, he's tries hard and is tough enough, but he doesnt have that extra something that makes you think - this guy should be playing AFL. I guess thast why he's not?!
-
Mitch Brown = Spud!
-
I see the MFC web site has an new interview with Jimmy Magner on it. I guess he'll keep his spot in 2012
-
Lewis' brother Graham plays back pocket / half back form Swan Districts. Handy player too, probably not AFL standard though
-
I dont have an opinion on his kicking, but you dont need to be a great field kicker if you're kicking goals on the run from <10m out (which is what i think of when i think shannon byrnes)
-
My favourite part was seeing the look on Mitch's face when we had obviously lost, but he didnt even play (ws injured). He was hurting. Rawlings and whoever else was behind the Clark coup should take a bow. The guy can play, but seems to be a natural leader and a passionate club man - i havent seen that type of passion from a 1st year recruit EVER
-
I'd back Henry Rollins haha
-
-
Thast actually a really good point. Pendlebury, Beams, Sidebottom, Wellingham, Thomas, Blair arent huge blokes. They're just super fit and strong enough through the core to stand up in tackles and not get pushed off the ball too easily. I'm guessing thats why Neeld asked Beamer to trim down of GTFO!

i wouldnt trade Gysberts for Stevens

Nothing like Masten Shuey or Gaff IMO
