Best MFC team in last 50 years

About 3 of them would have made the best team prior to that.

		Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

Of course there is. Those three are pathetic. Where was the moral outrage on Scully multiplied a thousand times for the lies to Jimmy ?

		Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

Interesting, quality ready mades preferred to the TAC under 18 lottery. Hawthorn been on to it for years and overlaid the family club salary rubbish as well. Unless the initial kids draft period is extended to 4/5 years could be heaps of fun for those Victorian clubs who truly bottom out. Maybe a boom and bust cycle after a period. Expect pay disparity between top players and lesser light minnows to widen now that the trade thing really opens up.

The difference might also be because Goodwin coached them and had input into recruiting. Semantics

		Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

I see that differently and pretty much semantics. Goodwin was the conductor of the Orchestra this year and excluding making the finals met expectations. Where we finished is where we finished. The Coach was Goodwin. As an aside I suspect the not making the finals might burn in this very competitive beasts, guts and may have a little to do with this thread. I don't necessarily have a problem with that either

		Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

Seems to me that if you are regarded as good player you are well compensated. If you are perceived with deficiencies, clubs as you would expect, are constantly on about improving the list and you may become involved with this. I am also unaware of a completely happy, pleasant way of facilitating player movement on all occasions. Every Melbourne supporter wanted Watts to be a Carey, Pavlich type gun player. ( Every coach pre Goodwin too I suspect) Instead he became an okish player over a lengthy period IMO . Good some days , ordinary others ( some when we were really needing him to show up). Over the top emotion on list management and financial club mismanagement can wreck clubs. We should understand this better than most. I'm happy to support Goodwin, he improved us 20% in his first season.

Get him. Get an A grademidfielder and 2nd large string ruck. Don't guff a continental about anything else. Dint care who we trade. Job must be done Trading Delidio sent the clear message.

		Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

Not necessarily however it does raise the point of resigning/extending Petraccca's contract . I'm sure other clubs already have or will have a decent crack at him so I'll sleep better when that little matter is attended to.

Don't think they can possibly let him keep it and what's more they know it. Be like letting Lance Armstong keeping his Tour de France awards. They are cooked IMO.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER

Chuck in a couple of Blueys to boot. We all hope Oliver is going to be good and he appears to be doing all the right stuff, but Jonesy has the runs on the board.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

This is way off beam and I'm no lawyer, but I struggle with Essendon's ability to trade out players over the past few years in the knowledge that CAS could well come after them as they now have. I'll struggle to explain this , but was there a real 'clear title' situation available in order that a trade could be facilitated? I realise there is a buyer beware situation in these things or am I drawing a long bow? Seems to me like CAS hadn't exactly lifted their mortgage?

Delistings/trades at end of the season

Would Andrew Moore from Port Adelaide be worth a look. 189 and quick? Cant get past Gray , Wingard, Hartlett and co. but has done well in the SANFL. Also a Melbourne supporter as a kid I believe.

Delistings/trades at end of the season

Trade Max ? Can't believe it, but such is Demonland. We are all different that's for sure. Personally , love the way Max is playing. For the moment would like to get him and Hogan re-signed on decent contracts as a priority. It is crystal clear that it remains the midfield and another big forward/ goal kicker that needs to be sorted. Back half keeping a side to 4 goals is a fairly decent effort.

Hope they sign up big Max soon . Taken a while to get him to the alter, but producing the goods now and is a very big unit. Apparently very popular around the club, has some aggression and just might turn into a protective leader IMO.

Reckon Roosy might go back a couple of years and put our first pick on the table and see what it shakes loose. Worked then.
