  1. The only ones celebrating harder than us are the lawyers who’s picnic is full of caviar and Grange.
  2. The thread title is a little off-putting.
  3. Well they were one kick off a GF last year and currently sit on the top of the ladder despite both of their first choice rucks injured for much of the period. They've been blessed with three outstanding FS's but to me, from the outside, they seem to have recovered from a terrible situation very quickly. I like DS posts. He says a lot of stuff that I shake my head at but he also makes a lot of points I wouldn't have considered. IMO that's a lot better than reading the same groupthink sort of stuff that is often posted here (I'm not suggesting you are one, I also like your posts). But he gets attacked unnecessarily in my view.
  4. It relates back to 1990 when everyone’s favourite footy manager, the great Peter Rohde, and the unheralded Tony Campbell pantsed them in consecutive weeks in R22 and the the finals to keep them from winning a flag they thought was rightfully theirs. I love that they hate us. It’s for all the right reasons and they can do f all about it.
  5. He’s 25 years old and has played 70+ games of AFL footy. What is one more game going to tell us? And what do you say to the bloke you leave out who is best 22 but is not picked because you want to see him play his 74 game? Also, don’t flirt with a game of footy. It could be a top 4 spot.
  6. I’m taking a different tack. I’ll be cheering LJ. He helped win us a flag and then sacrificed himself by going to Fremantle and delivering us a promising KPF and a first and second round draft pick for this year. And to garnish the deal he’s not exactly helping their cause is he? What more could we ask of him? Having said all that it’s a long year and I note the significant egg that has been plastered on certain posters faces with the “What they’re saying” threads from the Brisbane and Essendon games. What I don’t get is the angst LJ is getting for leaving whilst at the same time being derided as an ordinary player. It’s a win win for us, let’s thank him for that and cheer!
  7. Well eight of the Gather round games have been sold out so there seems to be significant enthusiasm for the round. AFL not as stupid as you thought.
  8. The money made from the Gather round allows the AFL to provide more support for the players and social causes. You can nit pick all you like, the big picture is the competition, the players, the clubs are better off for having more money.
  9. Thanks heavens Gil's still making money for the AFL. If not for AFL support and the money they'd made through these evil "money making idea's" we'd be gone years ago and COVID would have decimated the competition. Many more club staff would have been without a jobs, players wouldn't have been paid and would have looked for other professions, the public wouldn't have had footy as Dan put us into home detention for months on end and as a result many more of us would have suffered mental illness. Footy survived because the AFL looked for "money-making ideas" and were financially robust enough to maintain the game in the most challenging of circumstances. We will receive (reportedly) $500,000 to $800,000 for the Gather round. Maybe some of the phyio's and other player support staff that lost their job during COVID will find their way back into the industry and if it isn't them then others who provide support for our players will take their place. What on earth is wrong with making money? Without it the game dies. The Gather round provides an extra meaningful game of footy rather than a meaningless practice game. It will provide Adelaide with a fantastic economic boost to business still struggling after COVID, it will make the AFL stronger which makes the whole competition stronger. Make money Gil, that's what I say. Who knows when the next pandemic is going to hit or some other circumstance beyond the AFL's control descends upon us. The prospect of a financially struggling AFL and its impacts are too depressing to think about.
  10. Yep, and we gave up pick 3 to get it. Jacko really is a distant memory for many. Soory Demonstrative, I meant to quote Agent99
  11. I thought you were suggesting Hibbo and Brown out for Kossie and Tmac. If that’s the case then you need to move a current player in the team back to replace Hibbo but I may have misunderstood you. Gus, Judd, Riv, Bowser, Lever and May can’t stay on the ground all match. Who relieves them?
  12. Here is a fun fact. Todd call his next dog Lewis!
  13. It’s pretty simple really. We find a permanent role for him or he leaves.
  14. I've watched it all and agree with all you've said other than about Sestan. He has a terrific body shape for AFL. Short legs, very low centre of gravity will make him very hard to move off the ball. He's a beautiful kick, some at the Club think he's the best there. His body shape is like Peter Daicos and Wayne Carey, they went all right. His fitness is the issue but if he wants to become a very good AFL footballer I think he will. I love a smokie and he's one!
  15. Chandler kicked 3 and gave one to JJ and another to Spargs. I don't think you get rid of that sort of scoring power. But I recognise it's not an easy selection. Hibbo out for me but who know. Brown out for either Tomo or Tmac.
  16. Thanks Luci, love you work! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
  17. Those who payed unders for him are sitting on a nice profit now. I might go by that Ferrari.
  18. The votes are in and mine wouldn’t impact the final standings. As far as I can see there are no votes for Bowser and only one mention of him and perhaps rightly so given the others in front of him but there is no player in the team I feel more comfortable with when ball is in hand and he is so clean. This kid is a jet. Shout out to Kade Chandler. He’s now a good AFL player and not a perhaps player. When he settles in front of goal we’ve got another beauty. Judd McVee is also going to be very hard to drop when Salo comes back. Jason Taylor, you’re a genius! Good summary Joeboy, don’t always agree but love the thread. Sorry, this started out to be a comment on Bowser and no votes but mushroomed!
  19. Not at the All Nations either. Great parma nonetheless.
  20. Because the opposition hasn't got access to 40 years of medical experience anywhere? Really? Poor opposition.
