  1. If they pulled the pin on Jackson having offered a significant deal then they lose all cred and no player manager or player would consider them in future.
  2. Everyone seems to be forgetting Andy Moniz Wakefield. I think he has huge potential to be a very dangerous forward and has more chance of becoming a valuable AFL player than Bedford and Chandler.
  3. Thanks for your help Stu. I contacted LG to ask if I could change the Hertz on my TV but you can't. But they told me to change a setting to a thing call "AI" to off and change the aspect ratio to "original". The replays are now at least watchable. I've put this info here to help anyone else who is in the same boat. I contacted LG thru their online chat feature and they were prompt and very helpful. Thanks for everyone's comments and help.
  4. Thanks everyone. The picture is perfect other than the ball in flight where it ghosts and at time almost disappeared. I’ll contact Kayo again for some advice. I thought I’d come to the experts first! I don’t think Kayo will be able to help.
  5. It makes no difference if I set the Kayo quality to HD. My speed tests tell me I've got 52mbps download speed. It's very annoying.
  6. Thanks everyone. I have a download test speed of 52mps so I don't think this is the issue. I have Kayo through my TV and Apple TV with the same issues. What confuses me is that some people have this issue and others don't and my TV is supposed to be a good one. Very frustrating.
  7. I'm looking for some help. I have Kayo and have noticed that the quality of the replays on my TV are very poor in that the ball "ghosts" all the time and is hard to follow in flight. I have adjusted the Kayo quality to the highest setting but the problem still exists. I've also played round with the TV picture settings with no success. Also the 50m lines and centre square lines often get blurred and appear as a green and white zebra stripe. Does anyone else have this problem when watching the replays on their TV and more importantly does anyone have a fix? The issue only applies to replays but not to broadcasts where the picture is very good. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
  8. Grundy is contracted so he gets to choose where he goes. GWS (say) might make the best offer but Grundy can just say “Melbourne or I stay”. If Collingwood want to move him on it’s Grundy’s choice if and where he goes.
  9. I wrote him off too but he has been very good for us this season. Having said that I wouldn't offer him another year. He has shown signs of panic this year on field which is a sign that the end is approaching. Lewis and Yze are two that struggled when they went too long. He's also had calf issues which as we know is an "old man's" issue. So at best he's got a year in him I reckon. But more than that we have two young kids at Casey in Bowser and Rivers, who will be long term players for us, and Hibbo is keeping one of them out. I don't want to be like Geelong who lost Jordan Clark because they "couldn't fit him in". I accept I'm probably in the small minority here, but I think saying farewell half a season too early is better than keeping him perhaps one season too much. He's been a fantastic player for us whenever he leave will be fondly remembered.
  10. Cameron was a RFA, Jackson isn't. He can't choose his club.
  11. But they have a lot we would want. Young, Serong, Chapman, Henry, Amiss to name a few plus their first rounder. I know they don't want to deal those players but that could get the deal done so suggesting they "just can't" isn't right. WCE sit in the wings. PSD is an option for us. They've rated Jackson very highly based on their reported offer to him. I'd play hard ball. WCE have pick 2. Freo, it's in your hands.
  12. What a difference a bit of success makes, we can even wish someone who turns their back on us "all the best". Each to his own. However IF HE LEAVES FOR FREO I'll not wish him all the best and I'll forever think of him as being disloyal to a club that did everything for him. We used pick 3 on what many was thought to be a speculative pick. It was a gamble and a huge investment. He came to a great well run club with a culture second to none. He trained with the best - Maxy. We coached him to a rising star. We put a premiership medal round his neck. We've treated him exceptionally well and with dignity. Our reward? See ya later boys and by the way, I want to go to Freo where your chances of getting reasonable compensation is much less than if I went to WCE where pick 2 would be part of the deal. But I'm sorry, I'm homesick. Sorry, that doesn't wash with me and whilst others might accept it "because he's a nice kid" I won't. Compare that with Scully, the boy who was and stilll is vilified by this site. He came to a totally dysfunctional club. We had a split in the FD the size of the Grand Canyon. We had no culture, we had no professionalism and the players had no ambition. We treated him appallingly. We had every man and his dog at the club constantly asking him what he was doing and we put him in front of the media on multiple occasions to face questions about his future. We even asked him to stay for our sick President. He got a grandfather offer from a new club, an offer no other club would match and he wanted out after what he saw and what we did to him. And he had specific illnesses in the family that he wanted to provide for. Any manager would have told him to go. He did and we paid out on a kid we'd done nothing for when he made a sound professional decision. And guess what, he was right to take it because he wasn't all that good as a footballer and the money he got was a once in a lifetime opportunity. But we vilified him anyway because he was someone we were falsely told could carry us to success and he disappointed us. So for me Jackson is disloyal because he leaves a great club for little reason. Scully left a dysfunctional club for good reason. And to finish. If Freo offer peanuts I'd have no hesitation of saying no, Jacko can go into the PSD. He'll end up at WCE and if that's our position Jacko why don't we deal with WCE because if we don't you may end up at NM. Jackson's trade is the same as Dangerfield, Kelly, Judd and Cameron. He's being offered as much by Freo meaning they value him at that level. You can't have it both ways. Give us something really meaningful or you just don't get him. Over to you.
  13. Ham, it’s an opinion. It’s a great talking point and starts good discussion. If you don’t like it put your opinion here. If it’s abusive most will dismiss it. If it’s intelligent most will respect it.
  14. Given your high degree of moral feeling on this you'll be conflicted if he comes won't you? What will you do? Personally I believe in forgiveness and would welcome him so long as the indigenous boy were good with it. It's their feelings that matter. And boy he'd add to our team.
  15. The Strathmore Hotel I reckon WCW! And you were loud. 😀
  16. Luci Chandler is contracted until the end of next year I understand. After yesterdays game his value may have gone up.
  17. Dismissing Walker out of hand is silly in my view. The reality is that Tmac, Brown, Brown and Weid are all mediocre talls and with Tmac's supposed foot injury our barrel is pretty empty. BBB is either terribly out of form or injured. Worse still he could be past it. Weid doesn't look like it and MBrown is no better as a long term solution. That leaves an injured Tmac. It's a fraught situation. JVR is the future but that future is years away until he'll be an effective key forward so for the next two years he's development. Then we just hope he makes it. For those that think otherwise just look at JUH, Thilthorpe, McDonald and Reid who were all taken in the top ten, all with more development than JVR and none playing consistent AFL footy. Our tall forwards, with a few exceptions, have been very poor this year. We need some class while we develop alternative strategies. And there's no use getting fringe players like Riccardi, if they are fringe elsewhere they'll be fringe at MFC. Walker has played great footy last year and this. He's showing no sign of slowing down. He'd be our best forward if he played for us now. I'd be looking at him as we need to sort out our tall forward situation. Jack Darling is another possibility and as mentioned before Rory Lobb perhaps but his contract is an issue.
  18. I'm very please he's got two more years, he's clearly got some attributes but he certainly has a lot of areas to improve. To say he's close to AFL selection when he wasn't selected with about 5 players out is a stretch. In my view he's got a long way to go and his selection as emergency is to show him what it's like to prepare for an AFL game.
  19. Turner very good. Hibbo is there. Laurie not doing much.
  20. No Hibbo? No he’s there. No influence so far.
  21. Why the pejorative comment? As someone who is “older” I find that quite offensive.
  22. You should listen to Goody and learn to respect the opposition a bit more. Have a look at some of the footy (say) the Hawks played. It was fantastic. Beating all teams is a challenge. Thankfully the players and staff understand this.
  23. Simon Madden and Dean Cox were the two best genuine rucks I’ve seen in my life. Maxy is now well in the conversation, ahead of Cox for me and perhaps Madden, but comparing players of such different vintages is very difficult.
  24. This is my favourite bit. I doubted We’d ever be so good as to be feared and hated! Finally. “Right now, just like Richmond five years ago, which followed teams like Hawthorn, Geelong and Brisbane, the Demons are clearly the most feared team in the competition. People want to criticise crowd numbers, just like they want to criticise media performances of players they found entertaining when Melbourne was average, because the team is simply too good on the field.” *attribution and thanks to Stats Insider. Great work.
