I think Lynden's transition this year is a huge credit both to himself, and to Mr Roos. Well done. And Chris Dawes' elevation is a given. Well done. (I wonder if those here who labelled him as "soft" in the early weeks of the season will recant after his recent showings?)

What I am pointing out, FCS, is that someone with closer and better knowledge of Jesse's back that you (I presume) felt that it was NOT a serious injury, which turned out to be wrong in retrospect. But I again ask, what player goes out and plays without niggles and pains somewhere? And yes I do share your frustrations especially over the Hogan injury, and the Clark situation.

Sure it is becoming "tradition" but I clearly remember SenileKev trumpeting after they played the fixture once to twice that it was "traditional" Just as it is becoming "traditional" for the "big clubs" to monopolise the Friday night and Saturday night fixtures, creaming the revenue to the eternal detriment of the "lesser" clubs. Doesn't make it right.

Allen Jakovich - you should know all about career threatening back injuries :-(((( No, not the medics' fault, all down to Missen, it seems And Sgt Schultz - "you saw nothing, you know nothing"??? So, are you really suggesting that nobody with a bit of a sore back should play? Are you serious, or just basking in the glories of hindsight? Sure the Ox is slow - but he did have three knee recos.

Shocking luck, Mitch, and a gutsy decision to come out in the open with it. All the best. OMG - this club is cursed, and it must be related to the shocking treatment of NS. Every exciting forward prospect in the past few decades, with the exception of David Neitz (and to a less extent Gary Lyon though he carried significant back injuries for years) has been cut down in his prime by injury. We are the only established club to never produce a 100 goal FF, and probably never will. Life sucks.

^^ Jack & Chelly All too true - an abysmal lack of forward planning. The old adage - "Fail to plan: plan to fail" has never been truer. -

Does anyone here with superior technical knowledge and an ability to explain these things in simple terms know if I am able to save this clip to a USB stick, via an MacBook Air, for later viewing? If so, how? -
WELCOME BACK TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - NEVILLE JETTA
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Do you seriously think that a proven coach and developer of player like Mr Roos would re engage Neville if he felt he was a lost cause? Roos obviously sees something that Neville hasn't produced, and that his previous coaches have been unable to get out. It will be an interesting excercise but I look forward to seeing how the season develops for Nev. -
and Ollie is playing in a top 8 side: Dimirti is playing in the very worst midfield in memory.
-
I guess that explains why he had such a good game vs Geelong ! NOT !
-
I agree with you opinion; it is way too premature to judge what one player does in a good (top 8) midfield with another in a bottom 2 midfield. Just unfair to compare. Were the boot on the other foot Wines may be deemed the "under-performer", unfairly.
-
Couldn't agree more The kid had a shocker - who hasn't?
-
Give the guy an opportunity under a creative rather than a negating coach and he may well blossom. Good to hear - and what some seem to forget despite being reminded, is that Toumpass is playing in a very poor midfield as compared to Wines. (Hypothetically) swap them for a few weeks and you may be surprised.
-
We only have one Tapscott and one Fitzpatrick, so how can we trade a Tapscott or a Fitzpatrick?
-
or JT5 and JT9?. I love them both!
-
FFS - we have Jimmy, please support him guys. We didn't pick Wines on basis of need and best fit, especially as we had Viney. And to all those drooling over Wines remember he is playing in a (for now) far better team and better mids around him. Some posters seriously will never say we got anything right.
-
His disposal and decision making was first class last night. Looking forward to him having another preseason and getting out there with young Viney.
-
LOL :-)))))) .uite right what you say about keyboard warriors. I for one can't now bring myself to hit the <homonym with Kew> button - just lack the guts..
-
Waiting for the next "he's not as good as Wines" post, forgetting that Wines is playing for a team that can (sometimes) play decent footy, whilst Toumpass is in a struggling team.
-
These Kennedys are more prolific than the USA Royals.
-
I agree that Frawley and Gawn should be priorities over Watts and Sylvia, though the club should work hard to retain them all, or at least get a trade for a decent hard nosed mid if they can.
-
If he don't want us,we don't want him. Simple. Conscript armies rarely outfight professionals.

I had thought that a veteran had to play 10 years at the one club - no doubt Vlad will have given the franchises special exemptions as he has for most things.
