Most disappointing is the AFLPA lack of concern for the health of their players. All they seem concerned about is their image. Mirrors Bruce Reid's lack of concern for his patients - seemed more concerned for his employer. Unethical (at best).

Really? All that would come out of a not guilty verdict is that the was not sufficient proof that they cheated, or tried to cheat. The stench will persist until the entire football department and board moves on, and then some.

Interesting re jailing - in which juristriction would that happen?

And Jimmy's too? Bringing the game into disrepute. Hall of Fame retraction? Hird / Little = Gatting. WADA = Warne! And as for Little not seeing it coming - absolutely no surprise at all, as his head is so far up a dark place that he couldn't see anything

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Surely 'records destroyed ' = guilty ! -
Well, something has gone right for Tom. Surely more than just dieting. Lots of hard mental and physical work for starters - please note certain other players.
-
Sadly, I think he is finished. If he could transfer his work ethic and endeavor to a few of his teammates it would be great. We could even be a top 8 team right now. He has got everything out of himself, through hard work, but I am afraid that time has passed him by.

Have The Hawks become flat track bullies that wilt under pressure?
monoccular replied to PaulRB's topic in Melbourne Demons
We have had a fair bit of help over the years but, until recently, have not used them well. That said, it was unfortunate that we were down and in need just when these two artificial teams were being built the AFL, getting the cream of several drafts.- 122 replies

On those occasions that we have applied pressure this year we have done ok - well. Trouble will be applying it for four quarters next (or any) week. Time will tell.- 122 replies

Maybe we should employ a sports scientist. I hear that there is a guy called Rank, or is it Dark...something like that, who is out of a job.

It would be great were that contagious

So Jamar isn't being 'rested' as some have suggested.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 6
monoccular replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
He isn't up to scratch, but really calling an AFL listed player a 'dud' is most offensive and shows no respect for the enormous amount of hard work he has put in over the years. -

Billy Stretch - I must say he is in far sooner than most would have expected. Anyone who saw him at Casey, are you surprised too? -
THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES

Well, in the medicolegal sphere, certainly no records = fail. -
Bloody disgrace that this was even looked at. Pav chose to run into Garland after taking the mark. No need at all. Absolute Karma that he got injured.

If every player on our list showed the determination to succeed, and the pain at losing, as Tom shows we would be a long way further forward than we are now.

Essendon VFL v Casey Scorpions - Round 3
monoccular replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Good question. And Bail at least would make a legitimate substitute - McKenzie is a close tagger at best and nothing else. -
agreed. They seem to make so many meaningless trivial announcements but leave us in the dark on this.

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I guess another problem is - how long do these drugs maintain their benefit? Was their comeback v Saints enhanced by whatever it is that they took? It will linger until every player who was involved in "the program" has retired, and it will leave a stinking odor over every game that they have participated in. We just do not know. -
Totally agree Clearly you weren't the Einstein sitting in the top deck of the MCC who, every time Tom went near the ball, berated him as a total dud.

Jurrah and Wona - had, miraculously , some genius psychologist and physiologist been able to keep these two on the straight and narrow what a lot of excitement we would have had over the last few dark years.

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Which is why I just cannot bring myself to watch Essendon games - they have massively brought our whole game into disrepute and ruined it as a competition because there will always be serious doubts about unusual performances. That, and seeing that greasy haired smug cheat in the coaches box sickens me to the stomach. -
McKenzie's main attribute, in a fairly limited arsenal, is his ability to run all day as a tagger. That is why so many here are astounded that he was used as a sub. A sort of 'half pregnant' decision. Reflects our lack of depth, though as many have pointed out our best 22 is far better than it has been for years. That is what I hope Roos and co will use from today - a big opportunity to learn from the best - what to do and what not to do. If they learn those lessons this will not be the disaster it appears to be

Mods - I hope whoever is counting these votes treats this post with the contempt is shows and the contempt it deserves. Troll.
