Noise Affirmation & Free Kicks
A deeper analysis of which umpires were officiating would be "interesting" to say the least. Were the AFL genuinely fighting corruption of the results, or even a perception of the results, then they would never schedule those "mates of the Eagles" to Eagles home games .... never. However they continue to do so, and it seems always when we play there. The old saying that justice not only needs to be done, but needs to be seen to be done is clearly something that Gil and his henchmen ru(i)nning the AFL have heard of.

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Sydney
Two talls out, Preuss did well at Casey. Who will relieve Max in the ruck? Spargo?

Are we tanking?
How can anyone ever give >100%?

Ariek Lual
Any updates on this guy? Is he a genuine prospect?

Are we tanking?
Are you referring to the top eight draft picks? All that said, it is not evidence of tanking. Experimentation, on top of poor coaching doesn’t equate to tanking. beelzebub - are you a barrister? Pity you didn’t come out with that brilliant defence treatise when we were in the gun circa 2010.

The Stephen Coniglio Thread

Where is the Frost apology?
Love your positive spin, DS.

Where is the Frost apology?
Frosty - sometimes wrong, but never in doubt! And never boring.

Its the captain stupid
Why would he come from a serious premiership contender to a soft underachieving club -- unless he is one who loves to take on an enormous challenge? would, perhaps, if he managed to play a full season.

Its the captain stupid
I remember watching him coming into the game when we were affiliated with Sandringham. I used to watch from behind the bench and saw that he was such a tough competitor, and was thrilled when he got picked for the seniors. I love him to bits, and he has been a genuine club legend through incredibly tough times, but sadly I feel the game has started to pass him by, and it may be in his best interests were he to retire at year's end. It would be more sad to see him dwindle off and play his career out at Casey. Jack Viney is a slightly different story - hugely competitive (as is Nathan) and also hard as nails, but my thoughts are that he would be in his and the club's best interests to relinquish what really does appear to be the added burden of captaincy (probably to Max or possibly Tom) and concentrate on getting his body right and regaining his competitive beast self. It would take an enormous amount of courage (which he has) and also a lot of insight (which I am less certain he has) to do so.

Vale Frank "Bluey" Adams.
Very sad to see another Demon legend pass on - condolences to his family. I remember him well as part of a Demon team that one could always rely on to put in a strong performance, and indeed expected them to win each week and each year. It must sadden him (and his team mates) to see how far we have fallen. RIP Bluey.
