Maybe .... but a 50 m penalty varies from around 35 - 55 m, so if they can't get that measurement right how will they go with a 25? 15 - 45? They are miked up and GPS tracked - it should be relatively easy for "upstairs" to tell then exactly where the mark should be.

It would be great if we had some other fit and in form forward talls, but we don’t at present so have to make do. Stopping the bounce may encourage more to take up umpiring. Wow. He is massive. Big question always though how good a footballer is he? Well it hasn’t been paid in years if ever - so they will wait until a critical moment again and take the opportunity to show the world just how influential they are. Maybe … but as many of us have said it has NEVER been paid before and I am sure it won’t today.

But JVR stood up when needed ... well done. 3 goals and an assist from a handful of disposals - he makes the most of it. That interpretation has NEVER been adjudicated before.
