  1. 5 mins into last qtr and 2 behinds to efc.
  2. Casey 9.11 to Ess 5.5. They have to close the gap by 5 goals in the last qtr. The wind is a huge advantage but I'm guessing it's too big a gap for bummers to close. Spencil has been rotating on and off the field very regularly with Max King in the ruck. Neither is resting forward. Spencil looks good and mobile but this is a big test off match fitness. From what little I've seen Spencil is holding his own, but King is out-rucked. I'm not convinced that is his best position. Gawn and Dunn are here watching.
  3. Just got here after being at work. Rawlins and Goodwin in the stands. Hope they are watching closely. Casey radio van is here too but I didn't bring radio. You might be able to listen on that. 97.3 I think.
  4. He's a little late. The Saints already did that for 3 quarters.
  5. Well done Chewie. You auditioning for Lloydie's job on Footy Classified?
  6. Did anyone see the NAB game this year at Etihad where Watts was on the half back flank and wing on the fat side as the switch option? It worked a treat with his marking in space and then accurate delivery forward on the small ground. I don't want to mess with a working forward line, but it could get crowded in there and the coaching staff might think to use Watts' talents up the field.
  7. Thanks Pete. Made me laugh. A lot.....
  8. That's odd. Thought you called for Hunt out last week as well, before the Tiges game. Hunt and Oliver I think you said. Or was it Hunt and M Jones? Doesn't matter - I'm sure Hunt was the common denominator. And then he backs it up with a really big improvement in his second game - and you call for him to be dropped again? Please tell me that you don't have a pre-conceived judgement in your head about any of our players???
  9. Thread relegated to page 2? (Edit: before this post ) Is it : Resting? General soreness? Banana blight? Anyway, in news from the BFL, B1 was as smooth as a sundae while B2 had his nuts crushed in a contest and is due for a test before team selection for next game.
  10. Saw that as well. Wouldn't normally have liked it, but it came a qtr or so after Watts was out of the play and down on one knee fixing his boot laces on the edge of the square and Ellis came past, went out of his way and shoved Jack hard using his shin and nearly pushed him over. Thought that was very unsportsmanlike, so from then on, anything goes in my book.
  11. Hunt almost showed the same amount of 2nd game improvement that Wagner did the week before. No way should he be dropped now. As a young player his game time needs to be managed and I'm sure the drop down / rest / demotion will come later, but he needs to be tested out properly this year to see what kind of future he really has. As I recall his contract is up this year (pls correct if wrong). Once he's out it might be a while before he gets another look in.
  12. We are nowhere near as 'on' as we were against Pies same time in game last week. Score line is good but we're not convincing vs all the hyped expectations in here pre game.
  13. Soooo....go Schrodinger's Demons? I'm up for that.
  14. Yeah - bifurcate, punctuate, spiflicate and fornicate 'em!
  15. I like it! That's right up there with the great legends. He could represent the Excalibur to Melbourne's King Arthur. Or the long hair on Melbourne's Samson's head (of Samson and Delilah). I'm sensing a book, a play and a movie.
  16. Is THAT what you call it Picket? I thought it was more akin to taking flying leaps from short run ups, rather like the Birdman Rally.
  17. Honestly I wouldn't promote anyone on what I saw tonight. Ignoring the stats. But then I never seem to guess right in advance what the selectors end up doing, so in that case I reckon Garland and Terlich are in for elevation next week.
  18. Well, really not much to like about that qtr for Scorps. Willy picked up the pressure from late in the first qtr and haven't let off since. They apply very strong pressure ALL the time. Their marking is strong, kicks accurate and decisive and set shots at goal mostly dead centre through the middle from most angles. We have so much trouble clearing it out of our backline that the second or third in a chain of attempted clearance possessions often was a turnover.
  19. Great long centre clearance kick by Trac and ends in a Hulett 4th goal. Beautiful. Trac decided it was time to impose himself in the centre.
  20. He started well early but haven't kept an eye out for him since. Big guy and looked ready made for a ruck role. He was similar height and build to Cordy from Willy. Never seen him before. How long have they been hiding him??
  21. Geez the tackling and pressure was absolutely fierce that qtr. Willy applied it much more desperately than we did. And got the benefits with lots of forced turnovers.
  22. My bad. Trying to watch the game and post. Obviously not a multi tasker!
  23. Huey has really picked up his game this week. He's playing with fully twice the effort and desperation than I have seen from him before. And has 3 goals now. It's 6.2.38 Scorps to 9.4.58 Willy.
