Poorest ball drop of any Melbourne player I can ever recall, including Bruce. Shanahan and Ingerson were probably better. Petterd is a victim of genetics like countless Melbourne players before. Not big enough to be a KPP. Not quick or agile enough to play a crumbing role, nor the tank to run through the middle. Combine that with an under resourced footy department with NFI where he should be played and you'll wind up with a tweener with obvious talents but unable to utilise them consistently. I'm in Melbourne for work next week. Was planning on flying in mid arvo and meeting some mates at Carlton v Richmond. About a month I decided to brave a 6:05am Saturday flight out of Perth so I'd be in Melbourne in time to get to Etihad. So I'm getting up at 4:15am, when it will be about 1 degree, to cab it to the airport for a 4 hour flight. all to see a game against a team we can't beat at the best of times at a stadium we can never win at. Clearly, I'm a [censored].

I don't even think you could call it "large" Mono. 6 stitches is a glorified scratch. If old Basil was as cactus, and the scene as chaotic, as reported the "injury" could have occurred in an all manner of forms.

Nevermind what he's worth - who in their right mind would believe North are one of only 2 clubs he wanted to speak to?? Geelong? Of course. North? Not one of the other 4 or 5 Melbourne clubs that would be interested in a "chat". This isn't Judd picking the big 3 and us (as a ruse). Should have explained myself better. The premise of the opening post was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the team.I didn't weigh up the merits of match ups, form or anything. Just a born cynic sticking to type.

Was the first thing I thought when I saw the ins and outs on Twitter. Of course, the do gooder gen Y types will look past the cynicism and play the race card.

See this is the subtle differences between the 2 sites. Dumb threads are treated so differently. The opener says something ridiculous, implausible or plain impossible (like Trade Jamar). On this site there is plenty of nice people who entertain the premise of the OP, and the thread turns into 3 pages of hypotheticals. On Ology we'd just attack idiocy like a pack of wild dogs (whether this is the way things should be is subjective) and the thread gets locked. Alternatively the thread would just be completely ignored and fall off page one with hours. Personally I enjoy discussing the politics of footy as much as the on field stuff. But thread after thread of pie in the sky trade ideas in July is boring as bat dung to me. Anyway I don't want to turn this into a pissing contest because this is a bloody good site in every controllable way.

If you don't want to read and post on Ology Stakka then don't. But it's no ones right to tell others what they can and can't do. If your hyper sensitive posting style didn't cop so much crap you'd still be posting on Ology and adding to your 8000 posts.

I really hope that a lack of response to this thread doesn't kill Ology for ever. I'd venture there would be hundreds (thousands?) of people out there who'd love to see it revived, but wouldn't necessary have the time, means or inclination to front up to a meeting. Enough people have offered their resources to make it happen, just need Timmy boy to hand the keys over.
