  1. Any insight on the club’s relationship with Trac? Strained.
  2. New stuff, that gives you nothing new. Melbourne still really want him, and not the picks. Gold Coast still really won't do it. Its at a passè. Who blinks first? Your answer in another 25 pages.
  3. Nup. I'm just watching this with one hand in the popcorn and the other on my pecker like everyone else. No updates since last week when I was told he definitely wanted out, but Hawthorn and Collingwood were also very much in the mix. Collingwood were trying to flip players to acquire picks. Hawthorn were willing to trade players as well as their first pick from Carlton. Gather they gave up and we are still at it.
  4. Thats cute
  5. Has three options (Melbourne, Franchise, ??). Was waiting on the coach
  6. Shannon Byrnes and Tom Gillies
  7. Hate to say i told you so. There's been a boat race alright. But whilst everyone was looking for it in the Yarra it was happening in the Derwent. On a pirate ship loaded with loot and the AFL emblem on the mainsail
  8. Profile, profile, profile.
  9. So here is the lay of the (Demon?)land from what I can gather. Melbourne want Buckley. Buckley wants Melbourne. But... There are forces at play outside our control. There is an AFL Commission Chairman on the nose. There is an AFL CEO with non of his predecessors gravitas, and an ever growing penchant for getting it wrong. Individually, and collectively, they need a win. It sure isn't flying a kite about Opening Round getting a run south of the Murray. So they don't want the figurehead they've earmarked for Tasmania being lost to little old Melbourne. So what to do? Well Tasmania don't have a soft cap. "Name your price". "What do you need?" "What do you want?" This is how the AFL operate. They stink. They get their media operative Caro to drip feed enough to make it look fair without appearing to be duplicious bullies. We are pawns in a game. Docklandsare playing along with our process for the optics only, ready to step in when there's a gap in the content echo chamber. If we get Buckley it will be because he wants to do it enough to turn down the keys to the castle. No one could blame him for walking away though.
  10. There's always an assistant with elevated levels of street cred. Whispered about as the next great thing. When in reality who really knows capability until their club issued suit pants are 5mm from the fire. Skipworth is the current version. Largely based on finishing second in the Franchise job that no one wanted
  11. It's my understanding Skipworth was told he was 20 lengths back on the fence with no running room, and subsequently "declined" to proceed
  12. Dunno. But they were seen having coffee together hours before he went on AW offloading Clarry.
  13. All roads lead to 54 Fellmongers Rd, Breakwater VIC 3219. Currently. Bit would have to go wrong.
  14. Clayton is a product of his environment. Viney, Lever and McDonald aside, our senior players were all scallywags as younger men. Clayton learnt how to adult in that setting. No doubt he's taken things to another level, but don't kid yourself we have/had a list of Trent Cotchin's and Sam Mitchell's
  15. He arrived in Lorne with shoes. He just parted ways with them climbing fences in the wee hours.
  16. To misquote Damon Albarn, the club has no distance left to run. If they dont have the stomach to send the circus out on another tour, we are not getting close to parity in any deal. It's very, very sad.
  17. Hold that thought.
  18. What if he couldn't overcome the lack of family support with a baby. I think we might have to apply the ANB rule here, as much as it hurts.
  19. Only that this didn't come to light just this week. Freo and his manager have been talking about what ifs for some time. The Punt Road stampede complicates things though.
  20. Clayton is a required player. But it's not unconditional. He has to decide if he wants to be a walk up hall of famer or a bloke who was very good at footy for a while. His choice.
  21. Happy to not share what i know each and every year 🤷‍♂️ No skin off my nose. And to the initial question - no mail currently.
  22. Pert said all of this at Joondalup training the Friday before and again at Optus the day before the GF. There was no chance of this happening at Forrest Place on Sunday. Way too many people to let the players get swamped. Guessing Pert was ignorant to the logistics. It happens. A bit of perspective would be in order here. Did it detract from the weekend? Rhetorical question For what its worth my kids didn't give a rats r's about photos and autographs and i just wanted to go home to spew and watch the replay. Again.
  23. Cerra was coming if they could get it done. There was much confidence they could. They couldn't. So he isn't.
