  1. Does a State politician serve his country ? I too looked at all the ex players who served in the wars. Maybe a tad misleading but nevertheless a ripping effort from Deevoted.
  2. 'Warnie must not have been thinking' Not sure he has a lot to work with.
  3. - Neil: re Boxing Day incident there won't be any penalty applied to players and clarifies they weren't evicted. Rightly so - gross over reaction on the part of the media and many forum posters.
  4. Onya Jane, a real Demon you are Separate way on QB ?
  5. Our selectors are not known for daring choices Jack, perhaps they should take a leaf out of Collingwood's book Or perhaps they still regret the failure of Ian Craig ?
  6. That will go over the top of a few hardtack Bonsoir.
  7. no indication is performance was waning. Quite the opposite. Appreciate your logic, moot point however.
  8. Not unlike your namesake and I wish him similar success with the Dees.
  9. This club have reallocated numbers often since before the first World War, nothing new there. Jack jumped at the honour of wearing the famous number 31 as I suggest most of the playing group would have given the opportunity. I don't believe his acceptance de values the number 16 at all.
  10. Have we ever recruited a player with a winning record like Byrnes during our time Robbie ? Invaluable experience.
  11. His form has been great since 2009 and I did say he was a wonderful contributor. I'm also pleased he is going out on his own terms. My suggestion that maybe it is time is based on what I witnessed at the Gabba when he was beaten on countless occasions by Morkel who also troubled Huss in Adelaide and Perth. The fact that Michael was still able to make big scores is a testimony to his concentration and professionalism. Maybe Morkel just had the wood on Mr Cricket. The other fact that may have influenced his decision is that of the last 12 times at bat in England Hussey has failed on 8 occasions and averaged 31.3 - far below his overall performance. Whatever the reason behind his retirement, he has been a magnificent performer for his country.
  12. A fit Matthew Leuenberger will always be number one ruckman at the Lions however Martin may get back up opportunities nothing more IMO. Rivers is most likely to shine as he joins a relatively settled and classy back half at Geelong. Don't hold out much hope for the others.
  13. The antics of the 3 listed are hardly comparable to the what occurred in bay 13 - or whatever bay it was - Jack.
  14. That activity was somewhat hazardous. Slagging on the other hand .......
  15. The site needs a distraction until training starts again. Perhaps another quiz ?
  16. I share your sentiments Nasher but believe the time has come for Mr Cricket. The number of times he played and missed against the South Africans was almost embarrassing. He has been a wonderful contributor for several years and it's a pity his talent wasn't recognised earlier. One can only imagine the effect a few more years would have had on his statistics.
  17. Yes my post was all tongue in cheek. Whilst I'm plugging for a Victorian I nevertheless do like Doolan and Ferguson.
  18. I missed his commentary this summer, his banter with Bill Lawry was always entertaining. RIP Tony.
  19. Best you scan the list of contracted NSW players for potential selections Jack
