  1. 177 in arrears and we are struggling, injury to Parnell will help if we can remove SA for 200 odd but with Rogers and Haddin unable to buy a run I don't like our chances chasing those numbers.
  2. Surprising the Saffers have put down so many easy chances, out of character in recent times. The slow batting, Duminy in particular, may well prove to be their downfall.
  3. Easier said than done, day two has shown us why the Saffers are number one at present as their bowlers extract more than we could from a seemingly lifeless track. Warner is our chance to push for a decent total yet he was again dropped.
  4. Seems SA have made sure they won't be embarrassed this time, the track is as flat as a tack.
  5. An excellent initiative for a wonderful human being and great MFC footballer.
  6. Mitch has repeated positive tweets about his readiness for the start of the season. Today he thanked supporters who attended training and stated 'I can't wait' .
  7. No need to kick a man when he is down. Good luck Mark, hope you make a good fist of the job. You may need to work on your smile mate.
  8. I understand that Lucas Cook has returned to his home town to play for Hopetoun.
  9. I wouldn't be too concerned 3183 Dee after all you've had the wood on us for a while. Every dog has his day and all that.
  10. I have several however I can't seem to post them here. If you care to email me at I'll be happy to pass them on.
  11. Thanks Jack, all well up here, no games in Queensland 2014 unfortunately for us, but we've had a good run in recent years. I've checked all footy sites known to man on the internet incl Demonwicki with no luck. May have to resort to newspaper archives or the MCG museum if they allow photography.
  12. This is probably a forlorn request however I will ask anyway. The Demons have had 30 coaches since 1897 and I have images for all bar the first two. Alex E 'Joker' Hall who coached from 1907 to 1909 and again from 1912 to 1913. Prior to that he played 20 games between 1898 and 1905. 19 with Essendon and 1 with St Kilda. He also coached St Kilda in 1906, Richmond in 1910 and Hawthorn in 1925. Eddie Drohan coached us in 1910. Prior to that he played 75 games with Fitzroy between 1898-1902 and 96 games with Collingwood between 1903-08. Any assistance would be appreciated.
  13. 5 years with Ballarat in BFL, 4 with Horsham in the WFL 2 years bush coaching in the Horsham District League. Highlight was a flag with Horsham in 1970 where I contributed - got a mention the pink paper with the punch - Sporting Globe. There were some ex VFL players around the Wimmera in those days, Gary Hamer coached us, Roy West & Des Dickson with Stawell and Russell Crowe with Warracknabeal.
  14. If Jack's performances in either position during 2013 are a guide, hbf wins hands down.
  15. Cheers Rollo, haven't forgotten I owe you dinner old friend Will catch up on the way through one of these days.
  16. Send me a PM and I may be able to provide some insight.
  17. That is exactly what has transpired Jack although Tim tells me that he was introduced to [censored] by George on the Outer. It appears that the [censored] Brothers have taken advantage of Tim's illness and coerced from him all the passwords necessary to control the site. No money has changed hands it was simply a case of Tim being unable to cope and succumbed to the pressure applied. Incidentally whilst Tim remains most unwell at least his problem has now been diagnosed and he knows what he is up against. The site may well continue under the control of these undesirables however many of the long term posters who have not already abandoned ship will now do so. A sad ending to a relationship which many of us have been involved in for close to a decade. Apologies to Demonlanders who have no interest however there are a number who have used both sites.
  18. Daniher took us from last to fourth in 1998, it is possible.
  19. The interest in membership since the Roos appointment is amazing I'm told - phones are ringing hot at the club. Not a bad start.
  20. For Howie not to be nominated for the final 3 in this competition is surely a travesty. One of our few on field highlights for the season were his huge grabs, two in particular. Schulz and Elliott fair enough, however Jeremy had 2 grabs that were clearly superior to the Naitanui nomination. Typical of the AFL AA panel and smacks of bias. They have an extraordinary amount of love for Naitanui as evidenced by his inclusion in last year's AA team.
  21. Can't recall anyone in the media who is more annoying than this grub and it's not just his smug ugly face. Along with Wilson they love denigrating our club as you rightly suggest.
