  1. I get angry just seeing this thread title on this forum, should be on big footy. I'd rather trade some of the posters. Speculation could be postulated in a much more respectful fashion-some of it reads like the criticism of Richo back in the day at Richmond.
  2. So I think it is the metres gained that will go up further over two years (so yes improvement still to be had IMHO), I also think his team mates will learn to play better to him, so to speak, (and I already think that is an improvement this year), so the question/observation will be, is he better, his team mates better, or has he made his team mates better (my pick) BTW did anyone notice that Brayshaw is doing the over the head handpass now (did it in the 4th Qtr I think) , straight out of Olivers playbook.
  3. Serious Question: Oliver had less possessions, but I thought was super damaging (starting more effective chains of possession) on the weekend so he got 4 votes for me and I was debating 5., in many ways I thought the game marked a new level for him actually. Donc. What do you think - Is Clarry as good as he gets?, or is he just a new player who still has another two years of progression before he really hits (his personal) straps? I realized I had thought he had reached his potential sooner than most, I now think he in two years will be even better.
  4. I too was down on Melksham, yet again Goodwin demonstrates he wasn't playing favourites and knew what he was doing. Is very nice to eat this sort of pie. In stellar company as well ?...
  5. No not from WCE.
  6. If (and it is a huge 'if') WCE had some class they would foot the entire medical bill. I reckon they should raise the issue on AFL360, WCE has stunk with how they have handled it so far.
  7. Could you nuke his computer anyway, obviously been watching Punisher on Netflix.
  8. paid killers, you have no clue, everyone is a deranged ticking time bomb in the right circumstances, yourself included after reading this post.
  9. You are right and are more evolved than me I think, (it's not a matter of love, it is silly to chest beat about who loves their brothers more), I watch a bloke, out of play, spear tackle my brother over the boundary line onto his head (may have mentioned it before) knocking him cold - I still wouldn't shake his hand 8 years later, and I'm not normally a grudge holder.
  10. I get your point, yes he would offer something to the Suns, but after dealing with 2007-2015 why on earth would you put yourself through that again? for sure he will go out on a high with us.
  11. Yeah while Bugg needed the stint, I didn't love some of the commentary he got from the club.
  12. agree to disagree, but be clear on this point, I think Gaff should go for as long as he would get as if he had 100% meant it.
  13. Did Bugg snot one of the Brayshaws? I don't recall that. I was fine with Pickett, Vince and Lewis joining the Demons, more than happy to see Gaff join the side (if it happens) was just speaking as a brother, to use the cliche 'blood is thicker' and all of that.
  14. Will scream blue murder if he doesn't get 6, the fact that he was facing Brayshaw really sinks him (Bugg lashed out blind), is enormous in the context of their season (and I certainly think the odds on us winning over there just shortened). All that said and done, I do think Gaff was going for the chest and effd it up, not the same sort of dog as Matthews).
  15. it's dirty but i thought the same thing,.. But for real, very sorry for Brayshaw with the broken jaw, how do we think Gaff will go as a team mate of Angus? I'd be a little dark to say the least.
  16. in effect, (what i think you're saying) Jones is > Vince and for team balance (Youth/Speed vs Experience/Hardness) go with Jones. I agree, Vince had lost some of his decision making ability, ( i think due to his struggle to keep up with speed of game). Has been a good servant and should not be denigrated by supporters, just given a large appreciation of thanks. I reckon Goodwin can tell his mate to let it go in answer to your question. I also think moving Jones definitively has an advantage, in that he is no longer 1st choice inside mid, and i think he has been looking a little lost about his role, we have so many beasts at the fall of the ball, we need to clear the space out and trust our young beasts to do their job. It looks too crowded for mine and moving Jones could be a win all round, and not devaluing him or disrespecting him, just a good natural progression as you have expressed.
  17. Lewis remain a better kick most of the time, that makes up for speed, but we do need a few runners. Vince had qualities we need as well but together, hmmm there are decisions ahead. I am sad Salem/Hunt hasn't come on further, if anything his kicking isn't as much of a weapon I was hoping it would be. (he has a beautiful kick as well). I guess what I am saying is Running is critical but it's not the only thing - I believe the team is chasing the synergy of some younger faster players going better, to take advantage of the quarterback properties Lewis (and Vince) brings- yes they are slow, they were when they started, but they were not brought in for run but for setting up counter attacks (and in Vinces case some hardness).
  18. I am thoroughly in favour of the site: a, i would be shameless in promoting the indigenous links afl has to the local community and put our players men and women at the front of it. this use is consistent with what the area was and has been used for ever. b, mention that you are converting a car park to an oval c, emphasize how often the oval will be available to the public. versus it's use as a carpark. d, incorporate a water conservation strategy into the proposal, also maybe a zero emmission strategy - how Melbourne is looking to reduce its energy footprint, linkbit to preserving the snow at Buller... but seriously a little effort in that regard to try and bring the greens into the conversation rather than treating them as the enemy. that way if they take a mindless nimby approach they can be called out for it. e, be smart about lighting, come up with a plan that doesn't pi$$ off the neighbours f, pedestrian access, focus on access to site that doesn't pi$$ off the neighbours, so they dont get scared by demonlanders loitering doing training reports. g, offer the neighbours on the closest street the use of the gym and some game tickets etc even get Hunt carry the old biddy's shopping home. h, speak to local councils about youth unemployment, see if something can incorporate some training for local youth on landscaping and other activities associated with developing the site. Really want this project-if enough community consultation is done we can get over the nimby factor
  19. We play like we did this year and I'm on board with that. Darwin however is a seriously tough climate for elite sport, as a one off you can do it, but don't expect to feel chipper for a few days after. @don't make me angryI wonder if the sports scientists could explain further, when I've been in the tropics, playing beach ultimate tournaments, regardless of what the BoM details are, I find it much more draining, Like some sort of lethargy creeps in.
  20. DEE fence replied to a post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
    gracious ?
  21. how many more times can we burn Freo?, Colin Sylvia didn't set the house on fire over there. I reckon Ross would be a bit suspect. Most of our offloads recently haven't had a dramatic turnaround. Those that we lost unwillingly are a different story...
  22. Would be nicle to leak this just before the prelim btw us and WCE at the G this year.
  23. Did anyone notice Matthew Scarlett give a shout out to Brendan? Gave me a warm feeling to hear the wrap given, knowing this guy is looking after our young blokes. From someone Iused to be so jealous of, always wished he'd been ours.
  24. Invest in teaching him the ball drop, from his height it will have ice on it by the time the ball reaches his boot. He will be a baby giraffe for a while, I hope some of the negative Nellies can be calm while he develops. Rucks will br at a premium for clubs, because of what Gawn is doing for ruck work, It is like what Warne did for leg spin. So I am very happy with this recruit.
  25. Many thanks, yes it was awesome. Not even myki or food prices could kill the buzz. Loved the pregame, they were up from the warm up (staggered me they played a mini game warm up) bouncing around 5 times the energy of Carlton. Best bit without doubt though was standing next to the interchange in the last qtr, watching the players swapping in sets of 3, looking like hockey players going out to smash someone, they looked fierce amd lethal. Loved that our full strength side looks so dangerous.
