  1. A bit of love for Rivers and Jordan as well
  2. hole in one, with 1/2/3, well done
  3. Goodwin is so consistent with his messaging, Weid is not going anywhere. People aren't very good at listening to the coach because he is so dry in his pressers', but he is one of the most honest (if very subtle) coaches going around.

I have mixed feelings about it, when a player is smaller than average, I feel like it is almost a protective instinct, it makes the tackler think I have to be careful to not give away a free here. Instead of half killing the smaller player, they are a bit slower on the tackle, creating a sliver of time towards disposal of the ball. I know it is popular to hate on Selwood here, and I don't like his cheap shots, but he was a target for a long time and found a way to protect himself, fair play I thought. On the other hand it is diving, and as such, cheating. So forgive me for splitting hairs, but I see two different types of ducking; the cheating Mathieson version where the whole plan is to get a free from the start and the Spargo type where it is more of a protective instinct during the tackle.
  5. Jones for either Sparrow or Harmes, I won't forget Dew's cameo for the Hawks in the GF. I really feel Jones has a couple of games left and is a proper hard body.
  6. To me he is a goal or two a game off Judd / Cousins / Ablett (a bee's old fella) but is par with Fyfe / Swan / Dangerfield / Bont and ahead of Zorko / Wines / Grey / Cripps / Parrish / Kelly
  7. 6: Oliver 5: Gawn 4: Lever 3: Salem 2: Viney 1: Langdon.

I was all set for WA but now see Adelaide Oval as the preferred destination. WA not letting immediate families in is pox. I think any venue should have antigen testing as part of the deal though and also no kids, mandatory masks and spray disinfectant stalls at the entries…. At the G
  11. He adds mayonnaise to everything, and sets himself up as an expert football commentator. Yes he is a journalist doing his job, you're not wrong, but all the extra sensationalism makes me loathe him.
  12. This is what I really want. We are far from it now, but at the end of the day, the most Premierships is true bragging rights.
  13. Not everyone is as smart as Lever, talk about timing. Probably would like a better game in Round 2 of the GF match.
  14. I am not sure if I can cope with another 12 years of being told about his basketball ability... a'la Pendlebury.
  15. Willing to bet Bourke Street to a Brick that the final team will be selected after the Friday game. Goodwin was very clear 'sore' players will be rested, but the one's on the field will be playing to win, a nicely mature response. BTW Sub text from the interview on 360 is they care more about venue than crowd. And after watching the souless game vs Adelaide there was no problem with team spirit, since we can’t go, I'd prefer to play where we go best and players get to rest at home. I agree with Tmac, May and Viney back for Sparrow and Melksham and Smith. But I would also consider Harmes for Jones. Also did anyone notice Garry L's driveby on Melks? On the couch they highlighted the kick into the stands, and Garry's sly backhander was 'it was his best kick'.
  16. Help pay your fine
  17. As far as I am concerned the Curse is dead, I am not sure whose footy boots got burnt in pagan offering, but it has worked. My reasoning is thus - Has anyone else noticed that Essendon and Carlton now play like we used too? Occasional flashy attack but so often shooting themselves in the foot and not winning when expected and with everything to play for. It is particularly Carlton's insipid performances that make me feel like they have taken over our role as class clown. Gives me great joy - Win or Lose this year we have become a consistent team, make sure the next time you go to curse millennials (for what ever reason (usually being young and bright) you remember it is they that are removing 56 years of mediocrity.
  18. Not sure we should be helping - I used to think the Spanish were mad lazy buggers for having siesta. I now realise they are inspired geniuses, love my nana nap (when I can get one!
  19. My Taliban is Essendon by a long way, (even the club nickname is disgusting-an indiscriminate killing device) but still a hierarchy of loathing after that, Carlton (despite their flourishing mediocrity), WCE, Adelaide, and Hawthorn. Dislike: Geelong (more from being a protected species and good for a long time) Roos Non plussed about: Dogs Lions Swans Saints Tigers GWS Port Amiable intent: Freo (continue to spoil us as our trading bunnies). Pity: Suns Shakespearean Rage: For family reasons Collingwood, they are our Capulets (without any Juliet).
  20. You have been clear on this point - When it looked like there is a possibility of playing them 4 times in one year, I must admit it did occur to me to worry for you. 😁
  21. Hawkins smashed May’s eye socket… so for this VDB and Jones last game, time to put some pre finals hurt on, Hawkins and Selwood at the top of the list. Personally I don’t have it in for Danger.

Just putting it out there, if anyone has a GF ticket guarantee, and it is in Perth and sadly they can't go, I would be willing to pay, and I would be flying back to Australia anyway, so the quarantine is no matter, I will need to do anyway. And even if we don't make it I still get to see family. Is obviously a risk because it feels like a jinx to plan for a GF we are not in yet, but it is doing my head in at the thought of missing it. Seeing a prelim in Perth wouldn't hurt either.
