Tasmania is going to see it's population go up, and I see a Tasmanian team becoming Geelong like (strong gvt support and strong local factor). I used to think the state was too small but have changed opinion, Tassie is going to boom.
  3. I can watch these GIF's for ages, I just love Jack so much.
  4. Always gets me how the seppos call their domestic competitions ‘World Series’, their comps don’t even take in a whole continent.
  5. Am just waiting for @Jaded No More's dummy spit about this.
  6. @I think OF Demons thanks for that enjoyed. @Satan He is on record saying he was speaking to his son, I think the writer was having a bit of a guess and definitely a neutral. I appreciated his analysis about standing front and center, made me think a bit.

I thought this was the most interesting part of the show, no love lost between Gus and Viney was the impression I got. Could be quite interesting. FWIW I only have one box of shapes left here in Sudan, and I am hoarding them for R1.

for accuracy I think he said 3.5min, I did LOL.
  9. @binman Props for such a considered answer, personally I was ambivalent about that particular call, as I wasn't sure I was judging depth of the players' positions correctly from the perspective of that camera shot. But what I very much agree with is I never felt like we lost our dare, it just 'kept coming up tails' during that period, as a supporter with a well diagnosed case of MFCSS, I was very much thinking that we needed a goal and I felt like Daisy was talking for the supporters (tongue in cheek), as I very much needed to settle, clearly the players never lost their belief, a MFC side like I have never seen before.
  10. https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/lucky-we-had-someone-as-courageous-as-paddy-footy-star-pulls-girl-from-dangerous-surf-20220221-p59yay.html I know Paddy get's up some people noses, but I for one think he deserves mad respect for this (as does everyone who puts out for others selflessly). So let's tease him for being part of Geelong's geriatric midfield, but let's also keep a tad of respect for someone who more than once has had the tall poppy treatment and at least to my eyes been a courageous and fair player.

Dare i mention that wasn't overly thrilled with the Premiership Jumper, as much as I love it, construction is clearly not match day and the printing was smudged. FWIW dropped 500 across various bits of kit. Small by some standards but not inconsequential either. Question is 2022 Jumper of a good standard?
  12. Looking through the training photos, all I can say is that I am in love, never a finer bunch of men to pull on our jumper. We are going to murder teams this year, the scoreboard will get switched off, round three last year I said we would win by cricket scores when we properly clicked. This year will be unlike any year in half a century, we are Phar Lap for the first time since the 50's.
  13. Funny you mention Chandler, that twitter video the club released of him shaking and baking was actually quite impressive.
  14. +1 for another gus and gawny, as much fun as the post match was, i really have been keen to see a full episode.
  15. Am in Australia for first time since 2018 next week, have to get past a training, Casey or wherever.
  16. If State of Origin ever starts again we'll have half the WA team-Won't know who to cheer for. Also pretty sure with all the WA players running around, our tv (do they still call them tv) ratings will stay reasonable in the west too.
  17. Knees are definitely the weak link, tarmac = death. Rowing is the go, low impact but you can still smash the HR. Also total respect for the 5min kloms, still puts you in top 10% of population. I just don't ont have much variety for entertainment.
  18. Totally for this, he had a moment, under supervision, it's interesting to test yourself and am sure he doesn't regret it one little bit. He could also be a little extra fatigued from a young bub or even picked up a sniffle from the kid (although exercising with a cold should be a no no). I am so curious about their times, am always searching online as I'm sure some of them have smoking times, but no-one seems to publish. I am old, 51, and 6 kg overweight, but do 5 1km reps averaging 4m (best 3.50 worst 4.20) in heat up to 38deg here in Sudan (HR ~182). Kills me, need about 4lt of water afterwards and a lie down. Also my intervals are more like 3m... My holy grail is 5km in 20m never got there, best was 4.96km in 19m40s when i did my hamstring, was so [censored]. Tipping Jake was going alot quicker, he'll be fine, personally i hope all the new kids were throwing up by the end of the session... getting to know you so to speak
  19. Bugger I had to look that up, well played.
  20. Big Calls 1, AFL will come up with a rule change that hurts us. 2 Two Sydney top four teams next year, GWS is my big improver, forget the noise about Toby, they play selfless team footy like us and if not smashed by injuries will break other teams on the wheel. 3. News paper articles to feature about how we keep our team together. 4. Big offers for big defenders next year, Jacob from Carlton gets a god father offer to go to Essendon, as teams realize Melbourne was onto something getting back 6 set first. My 8 1Melb 2 Brisbane 3 GWS 4 Sydney 5 Bulldogs 6 Geelong 7 Essendon 8 Port 9 Richmond 10 WCE Pirated from the other thread on teams challenging us… Brisbane has a list and a good coach. While they have some annoying players they have ability on every line. Our best is still better but I do think they have the best attack to break up our zone. Port's window is closing and something NQR. Mental scars as well from some bad losses. Essendon is coming and I wish to see them smashed by us, they do have some good players and always well resourced. Have some speed and i think the team running is coming. Dogs are going to be there abouts, but like Melbourne sides of old there defence has a few too many holes, Easton Wood is on the way out, no ruck, and Libba had a mare in the GF and will need serious coaching after that loss. I think 22 will be a finals year but no threat. Carlton, The loss of the anti Vaxxer is a big loss - personally I think Voss will not be the man to take these princesses anywhere. Voss was an awesome player but like Viney, who sets a fierce example, he doesn't quite have the EQ to relate to the more unconventional types. Hubris runs deep in Carlton as well despite the quality list. Voss might be the one to get Cripps firing again though. I am so glad the new Carlton is the old Melbourne. Swans rapier like qualities, but is the defence up to finals specification? Team I need to watch more of as I understand the least. Cats they have two issues, one is the obvious age/speed, the other is their forward line, we took apart Cameron and Hawkins 3 times (2 when Cameron wasn't playing) they have no other tricks. Will do well but are in same boat as Port. Richmond, thereabouts, but seriously they have lost so many parts of an elite unit, and their bottom 6 look a lot more pedestrian than ours. Riewoldt is rusting before the eyes and Dusty as magnificent as he is cannot win it by himself (i think) will need to improve his defensive efforts to make up for gaps in the list. Giants, this season they played like a team, I think they will be super dangerous in 22, less princess more machine like, have to resolve the Coniglio question, he is less suited to being Captain than Grimes and Trengove were has gone back further than Cripps. Coach was suspect but has survived a trial by fire. Saints, nah, too many missing pieces, feel sorry for Steele, awesome player. GC Who would swap Dew for Goodwin now. Will remain a feeder/farm team. Btw if Goodwin wins a 2nd GF, the offers from Adelaide will become unbelievable. Adelaide in a few years. Collingwood in more years. Board wobbles guaranteed. Westcoast, ready for a rebuild not sure they know it. Freo, need to bin some lazy players, too many pick and choose. North, will be better but need two more good drafts, by which time they will be picking apples in Tasmania. Hawks, have no idea there late run of form suggests they are not as useless as I had expected.
  21. We are more like Brissy 01 to 03 than Essendon 00. Brisbane has a list and a good coach. While they have some annoying players they have ability on every line. 22. This was something that made me wonder about Max because it is a thing with him to mix metaphors, the podcast has been funny for that including his complete lack of farming knowledge. But I still think Tmac.
  23. Tmac style of phrasing for mine, Lever doesn't talk like that.
  24. We could argue the number of wins, I do agree they don’t get the big teams though, but his record is not just a reflection of home ground advantage. However I think a lot of the knocks on him as a coach are for matters perceived, and not actual. Some of their losses in Finals were pretty bloody close. They play a system, they play it well, he obviously has the teams attention, that doesn’t happen with smoke and mirrors, give the devil his due. All of that said, I think he needs a new game style, we have the keys for his. Unless he finds the next Wayne Carey that chip and pass style will be nothing without a marking beast at CHF, oh and I bet he copies us and comes up with some wing type players. The more I think about it, Melbourne validated having two good rucks in the modern era, and now we have validated wingers, hopefully the torp will come back soon and all will be well with the world (or at least Australia).
