I listened to First Crack, and Joey (who i generally enjoy) was banging on about too much winning. Last year he was saying how unlikely it is to win the premiership as minor premiers. My first thought was 'has he learnt nothing'? Tonight he was repeating himself. I was wondering if he even believed what he was saying. To be fair, his comments have been settled opinion for the last century; about being able to maintain form across an entire season and the need to time a finals campaign; but that paradigm is no longer when you talk about the Narrm FC. The way we are playing now defies previous norms, and I'm wondering who is going to recognize it first in the media. King (who alternates between praise and drive-bys) mentioned we are the best at this stage of the season in a decade on a number of metrics. I mean seriously we (the Coaching team) have revolutionized the game (much like Flash did with forward defensive pressure or Polly with his handball), we are historically 'best practice' for what we do defensively, and after the losses Fremantle/Brisbane and the Saints have had, it is clear that in 2022 they will not be where we are at without ball in hand. Next season I see no reason why they will not be there as well. People need to understand History is being made, we are lucky enough to be part of it. We might lose, but it won't be by getting ahead of ourselves, and we might just go through the season undefeated. As @Titan_Uranus said '10-0 with a percentage of 161%, two games clear of second, three games and 35% clear of fourth, and with just one side within 35% of us.' The only professional team in the world doing better than us right now is the Harlem Globe Trotters, we've even put the All Blacks in the shade. So to those wobbling that we are not kicking cricket scores, chill: ...will admit I wouldn't mind the occasional cricket score, but will take what we have for a month of Sundays

Had busted ribs, would rather play with a dodgy knee, is the worst. I prefer he doesn't rush back, a few bumps could really knock his confidence.
-
Viney > Dunstan Salem > Melksham (really not happy with his effort) Even half Salem is double Melks. Bedford (think another run to give him a proper chance > Langdon (praying no broken ribs, if ok no change) Leave Gus where he is please. Wouldn't mind if someone else got a gig that match committee think is worth a run if Salem not right.

6 Clayton Oliver 5 Christian Petracca 4 Tom Sparrow 3 Jake Lever 2 Steven May 1 Tmac a question to @Demonland, when you announce tallies does that mean votes are done for the round?

Essential finals player , good call.

*sigh*, am sucking it up and trusting the footy dept. I can only think they are looking for better inside 50 connection, which he can do, but his lack of defensive pressure drives me spare.

Me too

I really thought someone would have commented on the similarities between Roy and Jordan before now, or am I cracked? For a laugh, both were at 1st class teams before settling at struggling clubs, both considered hard men, both got slow, both know to verbal. And a shout out to Ted Lasso, incredible script etc, if you haven't seen it get around it. Adore that being decent can be a basis for a TV comedy, love watching it with my kids.

A moment so dear in my heart, have we added it to the JV made me cry thread? lb for lb as lethal as any other player going (I do like how Kossie is giving it a nudge). But unlike Lethal not a dog of a player.

Been saying the same thing all year, running on top of the ground now that his foot injury has been remedied. Also his kicking has more penetration and accuracy.

Was anyone else thinking Goodwin would be yelling at the Dr to not review the footage/perform a concussion test. This is a joke, and maybe not a good joke, but I was please no concussion test.

Listening to KU now about Jackson... spew... Have to agree, a female BT...

Calm now, I am happy with the win and not taking anything for granted, but feel it is OK to complain about i50 connection and set shots. We are 9-0 159%. Loved Viney, Gus, and Pickett, ANB steady, we found out Bowey is made of rock. Hope Harmes is ok.
-
Looked at it twice, not sure, was a single action not two and body was side on, didn't ride him into ground.
-
Pickett gets votes today too
-
What time was Bowey hit by Ryan, at work and not watching live everything as it is hard to watch
-
Hard game to call, feel sorry for the umpires. Poorest quarter for year, no excuse for poor i50 connection, our fwds have oceans of space.

Stream is good

I knew the VoN was gone for me this year when Tiges, Hawks and Saints had their little spurts, my first thought now is 'they will reset and stay calm', last year it was 'oh we are going to give it up here' (edited the expletives out). The fact that my instinctive response has changed is ground breaking. Where I always used to look for little factors that might make things easier for us, I just don't care anymore... interstate travel... yawn. Dominant fwd line.... whatever. Play the top half twice.... Poor them. 52y.o. supported the Dees since 5/6y.o. many many bad memories, the Fitzroy belting at Glen Waverly, 88 GF, Various players leaving Healy/ Spalding, dud recruiting of Moore and Templeton, could go on but we all know them.

where?

It is Jordon vs Rivers, strong arguments for both to stay, and both stiff. I am slightly in favour of Gus stays back, Jordon dropped and Salem to the wing/HF role. I know Gus is a Right foot kick, but he gets a few away with his left, and Salem is a true left footer, so both stacked on one side could be a nice package. I really like @CYB idea about HF, I actually think our kick/delivery to inside 50 has been a tiny bit messy (only in comparison to the slick machine we are everywhere else) and think Salem could be the Travis Johnstone 2006 of the Wing/ HF line.

I love Weid, but from all accounts Majak deserves a go at Ruck if a Ruckman is required, has some highlights against Nic Nat too.

It is not about the players it is about the coaching system. Our players don't have pixie dust on them (well Gawn/Oliver/Tracc do), they don't have cheat codes, there are other players who are as fit, strong, clever etc. But they don't have the system. Until you break down our system or we lose too many players who can stick to it, other teams are going to come up donuts. Tagging is just a laughable idea because our system will make holes in that approach like a hot knife through butter. We have the best synergy of any team ever. There have been more skilled teams, but never ones with better synergy that is the coaching greatness getting us to the point where we can say our system matches anything ever offered.

I was thinking about this, he would find Melbourne very hard to watch, we expose the shortcomings in his gameplans. We do the defense that he was credited for but have the dare and trust his teams didn't.
