  1. So does all of Essendon...

    Bastards, made me cry.
  3. On any other day that last match was 3 votes, Virgil Van Dyk would have been happy with that game.
  4. So 4 weeks is still a win for the cats, but also within parameters. If it had been a bad boy like Toby 6 or for Hawkins 1

I hope he is ok, a bit worried tbh.
  6. All fair, his position is the most vulnerable by far, more curious though about what you thought of his attitude/head space, was this you agreeing by saying he's better suited?

The Voldermorts of the AFL (Essendon) in 2000 (who were kissed on their bee's [censored] by the injury gods) didn't care who they were playing, they were just mentally scarring everyone. Our best would smash their best (would be a hell of a game). My point is we can mentally damage teams with our run home. There will be some media noise about something, Fugazi, but then we go bang bang bang (really want to see Max kick another 50 on the run in a final.)
  8. Anyone think that Weid's body language looked good, he seemed 'up' I know he didn't kick a bag, but i swear there was something different about his demeanour, anyone else think he looked in a good head space? I loved that he did team 1st things all game, his decision making was good. We win because (of Viney) of our settled defense, it is not a mystery, we had close to our best back six on the deck, and then we play our best game of the year. As I said in the changes thread, I think a few in the team have the yips (for me it's as bad as COVID), Bedford's happy confidence having a ping at goal I think will help the other smalls, am expecting a stronger return next week as the good vibes rub off. I also love Gawn's kicks from 50 for goal, there is an arrogance that I think stamps authority on the game when he is back well rested, I hope they keep it up.
  9. 2 of 3 am with you, however Rivers has been BOG in the 2's and his drive has looked brilliant, so I think he has dialed it back in. I like Bedford's speed and he is dog hungry and not second guessing himself with shots at goal, that enthusiasm is good for the others that still have the yips. And I want Max rested for Geelong, they will merde themselves at Skilled seeing him down there, he lives in Blicav's head and I know Scott still has bad dreams. I also think Max has more than one injury healing.
  10. Nankervis was Gawn like, almost...nah... feel sorry for tiges. I must be old school but there was a moment and 10min mark of 4th qtr where they could have buried Stewart with body contact and didn't, Demons would have planted a tombstone
  11. Is a fair comment, I just don't mind as we do it as much as any team.
  12. Not sure I agree, I had written them off, but ever since they got Balta and Vlaustin back in, they have looked a lot more likely defensively. A couple of the bastards are having Indian summers as well.
  13. Rewatched the game today, while packing house up for a move to the Ivory Coast. Sparrow stood out on 2nd viewing, would say he has reversed some recent poor form and had perhaps his best game to date. Closely watched Bowey again, did some good things and not desperate to drop him, but he doesn’t seem to be making the same space and time for himself that he was doing so well.
  14. https://twitter.com/AFL/status/1539938525511946241?t=KRpJg1WBeEA5wCGKDXm_kA&s=19 This just brings such joy, we are the most BRUTAL team in the comp, not dirty just tough and very brave. So many satisfyingly elements to the win. Weid's body language was transformed as well. Lever back into form, our back 6 so good in every position. Wings on song JJ accomplished. Contest and Pressure industry best. Truly a role playing team. Also what do we reckon, is Bedford now best 22?
  15. Viney Lever Oliver Brayshaw Harmes Jackson Viney - Actually think he has had other games as good as this Stiff - Jordan ANB (even 1 goal he’d have had a vote) Fritsch Petracca and a vote is deserved by all the Hibbo types, who did there jobs perfectly.
  16. +1 Rivers for Bowey, more in honour of how Riv has been playing in the 2’s. Bowey can freshen up.
  17. The SHEER BRUTALITY at the 9.54m mark of the last qtr, just before the Spargo goal, was EPIC! In rapture watching our power, be afraid of the Melbourne beast mode. Viney 3 votes and however many sacrificial goats he requires.
  18. A true sliding doors moment, apart from a forward half connection issue (a big issue) and the loss of the best Captain Melbourne has had in 50+ years, so much about the team is humming, head space is good, some competition best performers, and really prepared to work hard. Yet all of this will be for naught if we don’t salute today. I was taken by how the neutrals remain overwhelmingly positive about Melbourne yet we are not. Rumors of our demise are overstated. Dee’s by 24.
  19. Yeah it's a curly one, I would be in the same boat in terms of stress, but watching Eddie if they are losing would give millions of Australians true joy.
  20. Just think of the former Carlton President, will be easy... https://youtu.be/lyI5LfoBzj4
  21. So just a question, maybe answered elsewhere, but when were we planning on turning this guy into a forward? After he signs? The cameos are not enough and I seem to remember from the Hell and Back/recruitment video stuff we were considering him as a forward? Is there some cunning 0lan to keep his value down?
  22. Must have been Jaded… have to say, it is still ours to lose i am not ready to concede anything, I would personally like to beat Collingwood in the GF.

God I couldn't bare another Tom Scully thread...
  24. De Goey probably wouldn't want anything to do with me, and he wouldn't be my first choice to hang out with either. But that said never has trial by media been fair. I have been to plenty of parties where consensual sexual innuendo has been on display. If someone had complained about an assault, at whatever level I would be leading the charge for a criminal complaint. But that is not the case. Women have agency, they have the right to choose what they do for fun and they don't need to ask for permission. Consent goes both ways, when it's on it's on and when it's not STOP. Pretty simple lesson, but I feel the way the media carries on in this case, they are in a very subtle way taking away agency from women. De Goey is not pretending to be an author on etiquette and the behavior on display is largely acceptable to the vast majority of the community in private or there would be a different set of laws. Only sin here is the phone camera. The other matter is De Goey's 'priors' we need to be really accurate about those, and there is a very good reason why priors are rarely presented in court as they confuse the facts at hand, but we love a villein. If De Goey has ever escaped consequence for committing a sexual assault, then I am appalled, but I have seen in little in the way of evidence, and please don't conflate being a bogan with being a predator (predator's come from everywhere). The level of hypocrisy on display from the media in regards to De Goey however is nauseating. Not wanting to set off any warnings from mods, but have direct evidence of conduct that Gina Gerson would blush at by AFL players over the years. And some of the FOX team were on that infamous Miami trip, do we really think it was limited to a couple of nude selfies? seriously. In the end I believe in respect for women and respect for men and first and foremost informed consent (and no phones).
  25. Been my thoughts as well, always incredulous when fans pot established players' heart as a first response not allowing for other factors. Pretty sure i saw an accusation of him taking 'short steps' on this site.
