  1. Spot on but it would appear that in 2018 it had little effect mauriesy. IMO it is a dud brand in Australia that has little chance of emulating Toyota's success with Lexus. Over the years numerous brands have tried to sell up market brands in Australia with little success. Mazda tried at the same time as Toyota launched Lexus with their Eunos. That was a fail and no one else has succeeded in Australia. Hyundai tried in the last few years with the Genesis. They sold a few but are trying a new tactic of total different sales avenues to the traditional dealership. They will have one dealer in Sydney which will be a store front in the city. Established Japanese and Korean brands selling an up market brand is very hard work when everyone knows it is really a Hyundai or Nissan. Would you rather have a Merc or a Infiniti sitting in the drive ( there is not a lot of difference in price ). One has cachet and the other hardly anyone knows what it is and those that do know it is a Nissan. Now as you suggest using the MFC to get publicity for the brand is a start but IMO it is hard to see that being enough.
  2. Or for more than 554 it would seem ET.
  3. Quick answer is No Rob Mac. I guess it is a matter of personal taste between US buyers and Australian buyers. Nissan had only sold 554 vechicles of all models of Infiniti to the end of Oct 2018. For what ever reason Aussies don't like Nissan cars. Their Suv's and trucks sell well. Nissan withdrew the Altima from sale in Australia because the sales were very poor. This is a model that is a big seller in the USA. Aussie reviews give them average reports and they are not cheap. Aussies seem to like Bmw's and Merc's. Which gives the best look in your drive clearly it ain't an Infiniti.
  4. Seems a more than fair offer to me!
  5. Infinity is a poor selling brand. They are making very little head way in the Australian market. Nissan is trying to do the same as Toyota has done with Lexus. However the product is not a patch on the Lexus brand. Well Nissan don't seem to be able to sell the idea in Australia. Motoring writers are giving them ordinary reviews. High priced tarted up Nissans IMO. Don't be surprised if they disappear as a sponsor sooner rather than later.
  6. Lets say it is easily our best chance in the last 15 years.
  7. Having read the last page of this august thread I can only assume that a number of people have been into the Christmas cheer a little early. I only hope after an early start you all have the stamina to go the distance.
  8. Your big mistake Mr. Leg is you are being logical. That will never succeed with Greenies using logic.
  9. There are a number of rumours a couple I am not going to put in print.
  10. Sorry I meant the FD has inside knowledge
  11. Inside knowledge dieter?
  12. I live for the day this problem arises CBDees. On reflection it is possible in the next couple of years and you can guarantee nothing will be available by then. If we are playing in a GF the club will arrange a venue for the occasion if required.
  13. Their ground is not even in Richmond.
  14. They have been using our ground for home games for 50 years dc stranger things can happen. Having said that I think there is next to no chance the MFC have anything but Yarra park in mind.
  15. At last nights AGM there were a number of questions on this subject. Bartlett and Pert consistently held the line that Yarra park was achievable and they were pressing on. When the subject of other options was raised they quickly moved the conversation back to Yarra park. Too costly or too far away seemed to be the comment about other options. IMO they see yarra park as easily the best option if they have a plan b they were not going to give it air last night. Again it is only my opinion but they are locked into a Near MCG option and nothing else is on the radar. They could of course be using this to get better support for option b we will all just have to wait and see.
  16. Yes I would think the only thing lower is Metho!

Beware of Magpies bearing gifts RG? Sorry small joke.
  18. Not many Ernest, many are tarred with the same brush. Still enjoy NBA and NFL but I know they are not paragons of virtue. My problem with big time sport Ernest is there is too much money involved which leads to Performance drug taking and the participants losing track of the real world. I used to go to NBL games but they deleted my team and as a result I cannot find the same interest. Over things take up the space in my life.
  19. And you have a nice day too!
  20. After the lead up to sandpaper gate and the event itself I have lost interest in the Aust Cricket team. Arrogant bunch of overpaid sports people who would not know the real world if it bit them on the [censored]. More than Happy for India to win the series. For different reasons but they have fallen into the "cycling " twilight zone for me.

No email / letter Barney. Funnily I seem to get all communication concern requests for money. Oh well very few things in life are perfect.
  22. Fairly accurate Cards. See above.
  23. All of that may be true and I accept a number of people like yourself would enjoy it. The DEE Army already exists as witnessed by the people at the two MCG finals and a sizeable group that traveled to Perth. My premise is that I don't think the creation of one would increase ability of the playing group. Now I am not saying you and others don't need or deserve one. I just believe the benefits are over stated. Having one or not will not change my devotion to the MFC since 1960. I hope you get your wish.
