Sadly a player seldom explodes onto the scene any longer. In the 21st century the game is so organised and managed that players make incremental improvement year on year. In by gone times before drafting players could arrive a club in their early 20's sight unseen and play very well from their first game. i serious doubt any player at the MFC will make a big leap forward in 2018. What is more likely to happen is that half a dozen players will show improvement on last year.

I know that 2018 is very young but no sign of any of our better players from the 2018 list signing extensions. Are we going to get the "waiting till after the season ends" crap from all these players? Petracca in particularly worries me. While he is showing good signs not a champion yet. Is he waiting for great early season form to boost his value? Anyone heard anything?

Still nothing! I suspect there is no one waiting in the wings.

So he ran well for a couple of KM. That makes him a middle distance runner. A good AFL player is way more than that. Lets see what he produces in games

Half the season and he will be gone at year end willmoy. IMO a player who is at his second club coming off his 2017 disaster and can only manage 10- 11 games is on the brink. There had better be some really good ones among that 10.

He is not the worst on our list DJ and I hope you are right. If he had kicked reasonably in his games last year we play finals. My experience is that players who are poor kicks seldom change.

Bugg is an average player who could not hit the side of barn to save himself. add his Poor temperament and you don't have much. Depth player at best IMO.

Agree DJ nothing less than 8th place and finals football in 2018 will be considered a pass mark for the Dees IMO.

Versus 2012/3 DJ they were bloody wonderful.

He needs to be out of the blocks early as he only has a contract for 2018.

Growing any radio audience is tough just look at the money FM stations throw at it. The radio Market is so fragmented it is very difficult to turn a reasonable profit.
