Does anyone know what Davey's injury is? He has had a few leg injuries over the last 3 years. Made a spelling mistake thought I had better correct it before BH got on to me. No it was not Davey

a little Machiavellian mate. They might also be just the guys for the job.

I often wonder why anyone does it WJ. It must be close to the most thankless job on earth. If you do not win the flag you are a failure!

Yes it is fairy tale stuff Jaded. I just pray he can stay on the park. That would go along way to making the fairy tale real. -
Well you did not miss a lot wyl. as stated my many it was very flat. But perhaps this year we are about action not talk. lets hope so I could do with a good year from the Dees

remind me again who was the other no.1? Oh yes the guy the raccoon cut........

I agree wyl I have a small amount of experience in dealing with people from the middle kingdom. But I do know they will not be rushed on important decisions. If we have a sponsor close they will not be rushed by the approaching season. They will not have a decision date. If it takes 2 months then it takes two months as far as they are concerned. By the way mate I was tempted to wear my hat backwards but alas I left it in the car!

Firstly I acknowledged the mistake. Second it is simply wonderful to be in your company. I have never meet anyone up to now who has never made an error spelling someone name. -
Bartram has both of them covered for the next few years

Spot on Jaded He gets canned by a lot on here. He was one of the first selected by the old FD and is now being put in the leadership group by the new FD. Me things they both know a lot more than some on here

Seriously Ben-Hur!!! 7 -8 comments later I wrote the following "Good point jnrmac. my excuse is i am trying to squeeze it in between work emails. thought you would have picked up the wrong spelling of Trengove. Oh well seems we can all make mistakes." So I assume from your holy attitude that you have never made an error. You know what they say about people who never make errors? They never do anything to make any! Save your indignation for something serious. -

Quite obviously simma02 the FD last year and the new one this year have a very different view. -
Redleg I think Davey is at the end. his injury list is mounting. He has slowed a little and that was his big strength. give him a hard tag and he is useless. I hope I am wrong but I see him spending a lot of time at Casey this year.

you are talking about the real world here. Collingwood supported by a million nutters sells newspapers the Dees supported by less than a tenth of that do not. The only reason this news will get much of a run is Trengove's age. -

Very Interesting on a number of levels. - Was not going to happen till close to the NAB cup. What happened between wednesday night and mid friday approx. 36 hours! - Not surprised at the co captains but leadership group is a shock. - most from last year gone, is this the result of the geelong disaster week? - Trengrove may well be captain for the majority of 2012 - would appear Green and Davey are on the way out unless they have stellar years. - to all the Bartram haters " can we now lay off him" Neeld and company think a lot more of him than lots on here. - the new FD has made a big statement IMO, the future is these guys. - Neeld said we would not die wondering looks like he really meant it. Interesting to see how the dropped group handle it particularly Maloney 2012 was always going to interesting but this increases the level. -

Craig is not a Board member Healey is a board member he was elected as the result of there being an unfilled spot on the board through the "casual" process.
-
You have it third eye. If there are vacancies the board has the right to fill them. That is what happened. Healey is not a "casual Director" By the way with the resignation of big Jim last night there is still one vacancy on the board. If Jim made a strong recovery the board could reappoint him not that I think that will happen.

Hi DC just a couple of observations before I hit the sack. May well be the flatest AGM I have been to in quite a while This maybe the result of the situation with "Big Jim" made for a flat start to find he has had another operation today. Most speakers were very circumspect about what they said re the coming year. Most of the Info we had heard before re leadership group / Captain would be announced before the NAB cup and not one day earlier. Neeld gave very little away but for the fact the players will be fit enough and have the right conditions to produce their best. It has been reported before but 6 of the new 8 players this year are big boys. IMO we did not go done the skinny project kids this year these guys are ready to go. The subject of "Culture" got raised. Did not think the group actually understood what the question was about. Poor answers IMO. Schawb did have a slight dig at people who had no idea how much work was going on in September and October. I took this to mean the likes of Venom Denham but I may have just wanted it to be the case. The overall feeling I had was that there were no promises but there was a steely resolve in the group. Time will tell as always but perhaps this year we might have had a Flat AGM but A good year on the field.

Jim Stynes to step down as Melbourne president at tonight's AGM...

I can add nothing to that billy you have said it all. We may well be the GWS demons without him. -
It does however influence the membership numbers Win the first two games and then win one of the next two or at the least go close and the numbers will increase considerably. get 10 goal beltings in the last two and we will struggle to get 30 000 members.
-
I may be negative but I reckon we will struggle to win 2 games. First week we should win vs the GCS but Brisbane is 50/50. The next two we will struggle to keep the loss under 7-8 goals. Not good for membership numbers.
