On occasions like the last week wyl I seriously doubt it But what choice do I have I can continue with a 50 year ( i.e. half a century ) habit. Or I can leave, it won't happen while the MFC exists However my anger is increasing
-
Oh please wyl I am freezing my butt off here. I will be there but the bar looks a good option. That way my attenance is recorded and I get the best of a bad lot. Only joking I will be in the stand as usually with confidence until about the 20 minute mark of quarter one.

No we are definately not Tanking

So where does that leave Cook? No forwards left, almost no players left. And the coach says he is no way ready. Umm does not look flash!

What will you do if we are severely penalised?

The AFL have a catch all law call "bringing the game into disrepute". They can use that in what ever way they wish. But to answer the thread Title. Buy a membership in 2013 like I have done for most of the last 50 years. And spend next summer praying 10 of our ordinary recruits over the last 5 years turn into Brownlow medalists. -
After following the Dees for 50+ years I thought I had experienced the lowest point. However this week has proved me wrong. Am I witnessing the final months of the MFC? Who knows but I am sitting here this morning contemplating Sunday. Will I go Yes, do I want to go No. I will trudge along through duty. But For one of the few times in the last 50 years my heart is not in it.

Ok I understand now. Probably just my old brain struggling with the events of this week Sue.

Cook and Williams kick ten between them with Williams kicking the winning goal after the final Siren. Yes I know I am dreamimg but surely some part of the MFC deserves a fairy tale end to this week.

He was asked to step aside half way through his final year. That I remember he was not keen wanted to serve out the year. Jim prevailed and I think he still bares the resentment of that time. His loss he just looks like a bitter person who did a poor job. Maybe he is trying for a bit of revisionism.

Redleg another one injured Martin this time. Another foot injury That makes it 14 from my count Plus one suspended for a total of 15 players unavailable this week. Will this ever end

In the end It is only a view RR This is not the policy forming venue for the MFC I see lots of things written on here that are out there. May have written a couple myself over time. It is forum for an exchange of ideas. Lets not get too serious about our own self importance -
Rats In The Ranks ... On The Couch attack was 'staged'
old dee replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have missed the connection RR between the highlighted sentence and your comment. I will guess are you suggesting that I am saying CS is to blame? Was not my intention as I have no idea what was behind that whole saga. I think it is interesting that all this comes up almost 12 months to the week CS was given a twelve month extension. It is time to renew his contract or not true? -
Heady words Sue! Participially the "burden" word We are travelling well then?

RR we can all change our minds on subjects. I have done it and I am sure you have. People who refuse to acknowledge a alternative view worry me more than people who change their mind. -

Redleg I wrote this yesterday It was this time last year CS was given a twelve month extension. From memory his contract runs till the end of October That being the case it is an amazing coincidence that at a similar time to last year's sacking, 186 and reinstating this all rears its head. Is he getting a new contract or what? I am not surprised that conspirators are afoot at the MFC We have spent 5 years effectively producing nothing on the field. Now whether they are right or not It is clear to me that for whatever reason a large number of the media have someone high up in the MFC in the Gun and will not give up until that person leaves the MFC. Throw in a few members who agree and we have our current position. Sad but not unexpected from were I sit. -

I think this has a way to play yet RR The fat lady is not even in the room yet -
No way Deers we must win every game possible what difference does having a pick or too lower make? Winning is what makes the wheels go round. That is the reason I go, to see the MFC win games nothing more nothing less. Winning get it

Clyde that is the most entertaining item I have read on Demonland all year. May you prosper for many more years. You have made my day Thank you.

I have a question old55 If the management and Board have done all things well How come after 5 years we are effectively last with one genuine win and with the worst list in the competition? Or am I in the middle of a great big bad dream? -

Spot on this is IMO the major cause of our problems right now. That and a small problem created by our inabaility to recruit kids that are better than average.
