Well today I went to what may be my last game for the year. Outside engagements and work may stop any further trips to the G in 2012 I went today to watch 6 players specifically Bail, Blease, Gysberts, Moloney, Trengove and Tappscott ( and Caddy for GCS ) It is always better to win than Lose and I tried to keep in mind that we were playing a bunch of kids. Interesting that it occurred to me that when our kids play mainly their near peers they look better. - Bail obeys the first rule of football he gets the ball and seems to know where to go, looks fit and can run all day. But he is a p--s poor kick. I was however more impressed than in the past. - Blease played an average game, does some nice things but is clearly not fit enough. Goes in and out of the game. At one stage during third quarter he could hardly make it to the bench. Leaves me wondering. - Gysberts Poor game I know he has had a lot of injuries this year. Clearly not fit enough and his skinny frames gets pushed aside easily. I have a bad feeling that what we see is what we get. Skinny kid who will not get a lot bigger. I would trade. - Moloney Played a good game equal second in Positions for the dees. - Trengove struggling, an average game, did a few nice things but compared to the co captain he was ordinary. Perhaps this is his Third year blues year. Sure not playing like a number 2 draft pick. - Tapscott I have wondered if he was more than just a tough competitor. Played what I thing was his best game. I was impressed. In the end I thought Bail and Tapscott were better than I expected the others lived up to my expectations. A couple of other observations from today Dunn I thought he played well, tough and takes no prisoners and was seldom beaten. Green Five goals 250th game came one week early. I would give him another year if he wants to go on. Like Maloney for a reasonable price I would keep both. We have so few senior players They can both contribute in 2013 to help the kids develop. Last but not least is Caddy from GCS Based on that game I would do nothing to recruit him. He can go to Essendon for mine. Average footballer IMO. I had a good time today winning is never crappy, sure beats tanking. A couple of players went up in my eyes. I hope 2013 is a lot more kind on the injury front. 2 more wins before year end would be good. Go Dees

Funny Jnr I agree with him
-
Yes he finally had something to say And it was pretty good Not EM But that will do in the short term

No Fitzpatrick was injured playing for Casey Yesterday. And Morton today I was suggesting Redleg that Cook might get a game before the year end because there would be no one else.

I share your concern Jnr.. The major problem is almost no good senior players, they help young players. But I do think that a number of our recent selections are as good as they will get unfortunately. IMO we need to draft a couple of good senior players. They don't have to be Brownlow medallists just players that can cut it against the better sides And help the younger guys develop -
No it never stops guys now Fitzpatrick out with a ankle / foot injury And we still have today to go. Cook could get a game yet
-
God I hope so Jarka If for no other reason we need her for the next 50 years. A win will set a little concrete

I am a grandfather and have started going to friends 70th birthdays dpositive. Does that make you feel better. Seems like ten years ago I was worried about being drafted. Hope the Dees fire up soon.

See you there redleg May be my last game for 2012 so I hope we win

Darling was top scorer for WCE yesterday. 39 for the season so far. What a bum. It is going to take Cook a few seasons to catch him!

Aint that the truth. Hope we do a better job this year Of course It does help when you get to pick every other one in the first 20 Redleg -

Agree 100% CFH What is it people don't understand. This club is hanging by a thread when it comes to member support. Winning is what makes great clubs -
I am surprised they are this close

How has he been today KC. Cook that is?

Yep Win every game possible and worry about drafting on 2nd September Anything else leads to were we are now. -
Thanks DC sounds like a job for another day. I did a list of all the players who have been recruited since 2008 Just to see how they have played as a group. Staggering how many have played so few games due in a lot of cases to injury. I thought it might be of interest but looks like it is difficult to get it on without it scrambling. Interesting that two guys with large numbers and seem to be able to get the ball Cannot kick i.e. Mckenzie and Trengove Four guys drafted in 2008 Bail, Blease, Jetta, and Strauss have played a collective total of 93 out of a possible 336. All of them have had serious long term injuries, The lack of games from these guys is IMO really hurting us all are in their fourth year. They are averaging less than 6 games per person per year. Now I know you can make stat's say anything you like but we have got very little from this group
-
Sure as hell does Winning is what we need in every games no matter what
-
Very Aggressive hardtack Do you think that or hope it? I reckon Dees by 2 points
-
Hi Guys does anyone know how I can post an Excel spread sheet without it totally deforming?
-
Off the thread a bit but it astounds what people write in public forums these days like facebook, tweeter etc.. Don't they understand the results!

What will you do if we are severely penalised?
old dee replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
I actually doubt anything will happen But then again I did think that you know who would stay for the first 6 months of 2011. No matter which way it goes I hope for only a few things before I shuttle off. I would like the MFC - to be a team that wins more games than it loses - That is not the laughing stock of the league - To be relevant - that is hated by other teams / supporters because we take no prisoners. I do not even care if we never win another flag Just turn into a good team that gives a reasonable amount of joy Surely not much to ask for over the next 10 years is it? -
Oh Jonesbag I am devastated . You mean you usually ignore my theories! Seriously I am only making an observation on his non playing. I have no idea how you find out but how many first round draft picks have not had a game in their first two years? must be a low number you would think
