Lincoln McCarthy takes a screamer 20 metres out, Captain Zorko walks with back with him to take his shot and gives him calming advice to settle him for the pressure kick. Of course he kicks the match winning goal. Don’t see Viney or Jones do that often.

In his last couple of seasons with us he played like he didn’t give a Faarque anyway. Would have fitted in nicely in our yesterday’s side. He was a lost cause.

I am more disgusted with their desire to win unlike us.

Great to see Stefan Martin give a great performance in the ruck. Though he had less than average opposition as Geelong rely on Dangerfield and Co to win the clearances the hard way he changed his game up in the last 15 minutes in the stop start finale. He mixed it up beautifully with great tap work, out muscling his opponents and powerful knock ons to give his players the advantage to charge back from 18 points down. GAWN TAKE NOTE! Also where once he was labeled as being a bit soft, he is now a tackling machine and 15 of his 16 possessions were contested. Fagan has turned him into an awesome weapon.

Looking forward to watching a real game of football today. Brisbane and Geelong. Glad I eschewed last night joke fest.

We need a Chris Fagan or Brett Rattan type. No brand name egotistical types.

Oliver Le Peu sprays Fritsch the Fox

What a contrast to all the positive reviews and praise of our list, talent and sparkling game earlier this year. Lot of egg on face on the football media and they will not be kind as we have been exposed as a fraud.

Fritsch showed Oliver exactly how to play in that situation. Showed him up. Used his talent and skills creatively, not mindlessly.

Aside from culture, character and coaching issues we don’t do cold, wet, windy and general miserable weather. That’s the likely game day scenario. I expect another response like Roo’s last game as coach against Geelong. A 100 point thrashing is not out of the question.

We would have to change our name from The Demons to The Evangelicals and the theme song to the tune of ‘Praise the lord and pass the ammunition’ and tithe him 10% of all club revenue plus match payments and expenses before he would consider us.

Damning for the onfield leadership. Jones should have stepped and laid down the law. Instead he walks away as if he don’t care. Nothing will change until he retires or forced out.

He did play well despite his inaccuracy and it was a bad loss amongst many this season. To feel like that there must be something more bothering him.

They have a higher threshold for taking the khyber kebab.

Missed the game. Just checked the final scores. This is my guess how we played. Had more inside 50’s. Gave away easy gimmie goals. Gawn dominated but midfield pantsed. Missed easy set shots. Captains played like spuds. Consistently turned the ball over. mindless bombing into forward line. Am I wrong with my guesses?

So many weekends ruined this season. I now look forward to next season when most of our games are back to late Sunday afternoon. Relief it will be all over next week. Tonight dinner at a cheap Chinese restaurant. Might check the scores in between the spring rolls and the stir fry.

Like his co-captain buddy his major weakness is momentum killing ball use. More often than not when he or Jones are in contested situations and get their hands on the ball, it becomes another stoppage or it gets turned over. Sharing and quick ball movement are not in their DNA. I would be shocked if I ever will see a clever tap to advantage from these blokes.

No more ‘old boys’ please.

Aside from 6 bankruptcies including his casinos, Trump through bad judgement helped cause the USFL and his gridiron team the New Jersey Generals to fold in the 1980’s due to the ludicrous idea that they schedule their matches at the same time as the NFL. We are a bad football club but with someone like Trump at the helm will see us plumb bottomless depths never reached before and oblivion.

When all combinations of shuffling deck chairs are exhausted, its time to throw a few overboard.
