If opposition can’t beat us they clog and slow up the play to make sure it’s a ruined spectacle for the the football public.

When a player disposes of the ball to a teammate and try’s to run to link up the next play but is impeded by the opposition player it’s a free plus 50 metre penalty.

Tipsters always play it safe. Generally base their tips on how a team performed the previous round.

It’s like every club is trying to replicate our PF and GF games. Only difference is we done it at the money end of the season. Impossible to keep that style of game going for throughout a season.

Malthouse hates us since we beat the Bulldogs in last round of 1987 at their dung heap and replaced them in the finals

Pies play exciting but dumb footy. They burned themselves out in the first three quarters. About the only side that will be more tired than the cats in last quarters.

The pies look good but I doubt that frenetic game style can hold up after halfway through the season.

James Jordon also played 9 first games before a loss last season.

I’m looking on the bright side. The good news is we are cherry ripe for another flag this season and if we win it Luke Jackson barring injury will be be there to hold up the cup. If he goes we are still in the box seat for another good year and the compensation will be delicious. Would love to keep him but but can cope with a realist outlook.

He looks to be enjoying his football ATM. In career best form, giving a 100% and does not look like he’s bothered by the crystal ball gazing happening around him. Of course we have no clue of what’s in his head but I take it as a positive sign that it’s business as usual so far. Even if he decides to leave and the club knows about it he will play out the rest of the season because he can help deliver another flag.

Last defender to win a Brownlow was Keith Greig(twice).Uncanny similarity with Jake Bowey in looks and talent.

Just amazed by Bowey’s game and continued linear improvement this season. Trying to think to who may be comparable to him in the past and dual Brownlow medalist Keith Grieg comes to mind. Silky smooth, composed, unflappable skilful half back flanker. Of more recent times Nathan Buckley comes to mind with similar refined and complete skill levels at the start of his career.

Might have a coach sacking happening soon.

Collingwoods turn this week for umpire love.

Dustin Martin taking time off for personal issues. Tough time recently for him with fathers death and recovering from serious injury. More bad news for declining tigers.

The MRP needs to be disbanded. Only round one and 3 cases already. Due to its leniency it will be swamped every round.

It only took one round for the MRP to completely stuff up this season. Completely tone deaf to player safety. They act like a get out of jail free card. They seem to be influenced by populist and emotional reactions of fans and media. Now we have former West Coast player Daniel Venables threatening to sue over his concussion issues. The flood gates will open soon. The AFL should set a more stringent standard criteria for lodging appeals or get rid of the MRP.

True, in a normal game mostly aggrieved partisan fans would notice. But in a GF everyone in the country notices.

That Rioli incident was similar to the Viney incident of a few years ago when he smashed into I believe Shannon Hurn of WC. Difference was he got to the ball ball first and had his eyes on it. Rioli was far too late. It was reckless.

My West Coast following brother in law who always used to boast about his team and sometimes mocked us refuses to talk footy with me since our premiership. Gives me the silent treatment. Not even a well done or congratulations. He hast mentioned football at all at our catch-ups since the GF. I can talk to his sons about the footy but he just totally ignores the topic and stays out of the conversation.
