Just a philosophical question. Is ducking a small mans curse or small mans revenge?

I hope in the future there will two AA teams selected. So many of the choices are subjective. Who can say Harris Andrews in better than May? Players need to be selected for actual positions and not cluttered with too many midfielders. There is also an opportunity for actual match ups say like Gawn vs Niknat.

How young were you when Barass last raised the cup?
John Crow Batty replied to TasJohnsonFanClub's topic in Melbourne Demons
Used to live in Powlett St opposite the MCG in 1964. Then it was a cross between a bohemian and working class suburb and not uber rich like now. After the game my brother and I were sitting on the fence watching the thousands of fans going home when a jubilant drunken Melbourne supporter gave us 1 pound each. A fortune for a young kid those days. I was already a Melbourne supporter then. My brother followed Geelong because he liked cats. -
Guthrie’s attempt to waste time backfired badly when he was arguing with the umpire about some irrelevance and then told to play on forcing him to kick in a hurry and OOTF.

Brett Ratten the only half decent coach at Carlton in the past two decades was sacked by the club. The other half dozen coaches were sacked by the players. Expect a 100 points loss to farewell Teague.

Which one is Brian Taylor?

The motoring term “going up up a gear”really irritates me. Incorrectly used when a team increases intensity and pressure. In motoring terms the raw power to build acceleration to enable “go up a gear” is applied earlier at lower gears. Dropping down a gear when just cruising should be the correct term where engine revs are increased to give more power and acceleration. Going up a gear is effectively going into cruising mode. More applicable when reaching a comfortable lead and the game already in the bag.

At about the 11 minute mark of this video.

Grinter was one of the most skilful players we had in the past 50 years. He could take a speccy, had clean ball handling skills and his kicking was Travis Johnstone standard.
-
The tribunal were on to Grinter after several other coat hanger type incidents in preceding games as well as an article in the papers about an unnamed “hit man” around the time.
-
Actually the incident was in the play. Grinter got Wallace a fraction of a second after Wallace fumbled the ball in front of his face. I suspect Wallace fumbled because he saw Grinter coming.
-
Opposition clubs seem share the same opinion of him as you do. Perhaps that’s why he is so effective.

I know its tough with the prospect of fans not being able to attend finals but some posters are getting ahead of themselves thinking we are are lock in for the GF. We yet have to earn that spot.

I know there has been much angst in Israel as well in heavily Jewish New York against the Ultra Orthodox Haredim for thumbing their noses at sensible COVID and other health preventative restrictions. Either they don’t believe in COVID or god will protect them for being pure. Similar issues also happened with the serious outbreak of measles in 2019. I saw an image of a Haredi poster in Tel Aviv saying that COVID was caused by Haredi Jewish women who wear wigs made from the hair of non Jewish women. How FUp is that? Some of these Ultra Orthodox have dangerous cult like beliefs.

In game time it was about a minute and half.

I always said the AA should have two sides. The blue and the red teams. Each side has alternating picks for positions. That way it would be more representative of actual talent for position.

He gets a free season as compensation for the injury mismanagement from the practice game last year.

More likely be 2 weeks for Neal and another 2 weeks for Bullen.

Heroic stuff by Hawkins. Did his best to prevent the Saints player from self concussing himself.
