  1. I’ve been very kind to our current players but I did say that Sparrow had the impact of a sparrow fart in an earlier game and that Jackson was a bit vanilla. Apologies for that.
  2. Once colloquially known as the Cattery is now the Caterachery.
  3. Its important that nursing homes have good experienced management. The quality of care for ageing footballers is exemplary down there.
  4. That 8 hours or more stuck on the airport tarmac in Queensland and a flight each way certainly go the players offensive juices flowing. Since then we seem to have developed a killer instinct and big scores.
  5. I was impressed by the way we broke the Bulldogs spirit just before 3 quarter time. In the last quarter they never fired a shot. Completely neutered and broken they were and not a hint of token resistance. And this was a GF. it was a tsunami that hit them.
  6. Nor was Marty Hore.

The world works in mysterious ways. If we took Wines we may not have ended up with Petracca or Oliver. If we kept Stefan Martin, Gawn may now be playing for some other club. If we kept Watts then no Fritsch. Reality is we were never serious contenders till now. I’m now happy with the champs we got now.
  8. Yep projection. Seems to be a blight in modern media now as well as politics. Blame others for ones own indiscretions, untruths and outrages. [censored] the horse from both ends. Done with all seriousness without a hint of irony. A devolved creature of the media swamp he is.
  9. Has to be Fritsch’s fourth goal. The third stemmed the bleeding but his solo fourth effort sparked the unstoppable run on. Returned the players belief they could do anything.
  10. “This is a rivalry full of nastiness and there’s a few things that stem from it. There are senior players from both sides that don’t particularly get along”. What’s he talking about? If there is bad blood it was not translated to the game. One of the cleanest GF’s I can remember.
  11. The goal in the last minute of the 3rd quarter. I blinked and suddenly we went from 6 points up to 24.
  12. Great leader.

That 1990 final against WC was like the recent Port/Bulldogs game. We were expected to win easily but didn’t show up. Game lost at half time. We came back hard in the second half but we kept bleeding goals. There was a copious amount of bathwater drank leading up to that game.
  14. If one likes watching a player get fatter as each season passes then De Goey is your man. Greene is outrage porn.
  15. The Bulldogs didn’t concede 100 points a game until we kicked 100 points against them in a quarter and a half.
  16. Naish from Richmond is a good outside running player. He’s worth a go. We have just about every other position covered.
  17. These nothing in the video. Just a couple of cops talking to him and pointing in the distance. Nothing aggressive or stupid to be seen.
  18. A further article on Tom Wills and the cricket team. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket/history-of-australia-s-first-cricket-team-not-set-in-stone-20211001-p58web.html
  19. I’m sure Tmac is still NQR. Throughout the finals he couldn’t get off the ground when trying to mark and lost his agility. All since that back injury. But he did some very important role play. He took a mark on the boundary to start our first charge at goal and lots of bullocking work at contests as well as shepherding that Sparrow goal.
  20. I do. It just makes the comeback and subsequent slaughter more satisfying.
  21. If fans can remember how many times they have watched the replay in full or highlights then obviously they haven’t watched enough.
  22. Maybe Naish from Richmond. Good outside runner. We don’t need more forwards, defenders, rucks or midfielders ATM.

We scored 8.16.64 in 1964 GF as well.
  24. Only one of AFL.com writers in the preseason predicted we would make the finals this year. And was for only 8th spot. https://www.afl.com.au/news/560486/crystal-ball-our-predictions-for-the-2021-afl-season-are-in
  25. I like to see two games at Optus next season against eagles and dockers. It’s consecrated ground for us now.
