Brisbane won the last two flags from unlikely positions. Brisbane played a lot of ordinary football this season as well as last season but they seem to have managed to unlock the elusive finals footy formula when it matters most two seasons in a row even when decimated by injuries. One could also say they underachieved prior to 2024 before finding success in contrast to us underachieving after being successful in 2021 followed by two low energy finals campaigns from strong positions.

Too many easy wins have dulled the cats claws it seems.

The AFL could compensate him by renaming the Brownlow Medal as the Nick Daicos Medal.

I thought Morris and Gallop were too inexperienced and lacked height to be effective as tall forwards in the finals but have done very well so far. Brisbane has not missed Hipwood their only real tall forward. Geelong losing Stewart is a bonus for Brisbane.

First time I have seen the commentators more feral than the Filth fans after a non free kick.

I have always liked BM but he is the sort of player we should have chased hard a couple of seasons ago with decent dollars but at his age now a risky proposition. From what I understand Collingwood have been paying him peanuts not commensurate with his output for his career. They always treated him like a bread and butter player and not surprised if they want to move him on.

The AFL already has the premier football competition in Australia and now wants its cake and eat it too.

If we hired Buckley then we would have to hire his huge ego as well which might not sit well with a fragile club like ours which requires sober and selfless leadership. He still is a media man and his profile needs boosting on a regular basis. He certainly had got himself loads of free publicity and media attention in the past few weeks but his sincerity to pursue the MFC job has been questionable. He might have added more $$$ to his future Tassie contract though.

Hard to see Brisbane going much further with current key forwards like Morris, Gallup and possibly Day. Morris is good but can’t do it on his own.

Optus is very loud. Much louder than the MCG easily. It’s a beautifully designed stadium. Not a bad seat to be had. I believe sound gets trapped under the roof and reverberates around the ground like a Mexican wave but I suspect the noise might also be amplified some how with the speaker system. During Bang, Bang, Bang in 2021 the noise was incredible.

Can’t believe he played 10 games in 25. I barely noticed him. Given, he has come back from a serious injury. Still young enough to capture his best form. I hope he does it here and not elsewhere.
