  1. Games played since conceding a 100 points. Adelaide-0 Hawthorn-0 Richmond-1 Collingwood-1 North-1 GWS-2 Port-2 Geelong-2 Western Bulldogs-2 Essendon-3 West Coast-3 St Kilda-3 Gold Coast-4 Fremantle-4 Carlton-5 Sydney-7 Brisbane-10 Melbourne-54
  2. Percentage can be built by keeping the opposition scores low. If believable what he said we must be the only side that are pacing themselves on game days. We did have 2 short breaks and perhaps a wise decision to not run ourselves into the ground like some other clubs have already done. Defence uses less energy than offence.
  3. When I was a copy boy in the 1970’s at the Herald & Weekly Times it was a perk for us to grab as many premiership posters as we could at the end of the GF and rush down to the MCG to [censored] them off. We used to make some good money. Two sets were printed, the losers set was later pulped. Wish I grabbed some of those as well.
  4. Makes our modest win over GC in oppressive conditions look better now. GC are a very good side at least early in the season and at home.
  5. I was at that game and one of the few I remember clearly from the time. One of the most frustrating games I’ve ever attended.
  6. Had to switch off the pre game due to that irritating ear worm Adelaide club song.
  7. Last time we conceded 100 points in a game. Round16, 2019 against Carlton which we won anyway. 53 games since without conceding a 100 points.
  8. If a player is managed there is the implied understanding that they will return the following week. IF Brown and Weid play well what happens to Tmac? Bad for trust if he’s kept out then. Must be dropped on form, injury or team structure requirements. Management is only a temporary rest.
  9. As Goodwin said last night defence is the main priority as well as contest. I notice when going forward from defensive transition nearly always our long kicks go deep to contests in the pockets or wide flanks which lower scoring percentages but offset by weight of entries and pressuring opposition defences to scramble exits. More important to keep the ball bottled up deep forward than playing a high risk high reward attack game. Goodwin has enough confidence that our default game will score more than the opposition solely on defensive and contested output.
  10. from port supporter on BF. And speaking of Max Gawn , you are a freaking colossus. A guy your size shouldn't have skills like that nor did you need us to continually kick the ball to you. But there you go, I dips me lid.
  11. They turned out to be ‘the line in the sand’ games we were waiting to happen for over a decade.
  12. SInce round 15 2020 we are 26-4-1.
  13. If opposition can’t beat us they clog and slow up the play to make sure it’s a ruined spectacle for the the football public.
  14. When a player disposes of the ball to a teammate and try’s to run to link up the next play but is impeded by the opposition player it’s a free plus 50 metre penalty.
  15. Tipsters always play it safe. Generally base their tips on how a team performed the previous round.
  16. The great man
  17. It’s like every club is trying to replicate our PF and GF games. Only difference is we done it at the money end of the season. Impossible to keep that style of game going for throughout a season.
  18. Malthouse hates us since we beat the Bulldogs in last round of 1987 at their dung heap and replaced them in the finals
  19. Pies play exciting but dumb footy. They burned themselves out in the first three quarters. About the only side that will be more tired than the cats in last quarters.
  20. The pies look good but I doubt that frenetic game style can hold up after halfway through the season.
  21. James Jordon also played 9 first games before a loss last season.
  22. I’m looking on the bright side. The good news is we are cherry ripe for another flag this season and if we win it Luke Jackson barring injury will be be there to hold up the cup. If he goes we are still in the box seat for another good year and the compensation will be delicious. Would love to keep him but but can cope with a realist outlook.
  23. He looks to be enjoying his football ATM. In career best form, giving a 100% and does not look like he’s bothered by the crystal ball gazing happening around him. Of course we have no clue of what’s in his head but I take it as a positive sign that it’s business as usual so far. Even if he decides to leave and the club knows about it he will play out the rest of the season because he can help deliver another flag.
  24. Last defender to win a Brownlow was Keith Greig(twice).Uncanny similarity with Jake Bowey in looks and talent.
  25. Just amazed by Bowey’s game and continued linear improvement this season. Trying to think to who may be comparable to him in the past and dual Brownlow medalist Keith Grieg comes to mind. Silky smooth, composed, unflappable skilful half back flanker. Of more recent times Nathan Buckley comes to mind with similar refined and complete skill levels at the start of his career.
